Steps descend into a fifteen-foot-high, moss-covered room. Four statues of Omuan warriors stand in alcoves to either side, overlooking a barred gladiatorial pit in the floor. Each statue looks like it was meant to hold a spear, but its weapon is missing. On the far side of the chamber, a stone pedestal stands conspicuously bare. A relief on the wall behind it shows a monstrous jaguar with six snakes protruding from its shoulders, fighting off a squat, frog-like humanoid armed with a spear. To the left of the relief is a narrow tunnel with stairs leading down.
"Look at this!" Orvex says, pointing again. "The wall relief depicts Shagambi, a kamadan, fighting Nangnang, a grung! Just below, an inscription written in Old Omuan tells the story of how Nangnang stole Shagambi’s spear: At noon, a brave kamadan hopped down from her rock. She saw the evil in the Omuans’ hearts and decided to lance it like a troublesome boil. The kamadan fashioned a holy spear, but she left it by the riverbank and a crafty grung stole it. In her rage, Shagambi the kamadan forgot all about the Omuans and chased Nangnang the grung forever across the sky."
"The statues. Their spears are missing."Zyn observed.
Anyone who has a passive perception of 15 or higher, or rolls 15 or higher on a perception check, notices:
..that there are tiny holes in the relief, as if a conduit for releasing gas. Great.

Kitsune is apparently too enthralled by all the new names she's learning, that she's distracted by writing them all down in her journal (later to be reported back to the Raven Queen...you know how bureaucracies love their paperwork!).
Astra notices what’s written in the spoiler. You get the idea that perhaps theres are spears around here that require claiming in order to reveal the cube.

Astra leans in a bit to observe the holes, then is sure to point out the discovery to his teammates just in case. At Zyn's own observation, he chimes in, "Then I suppose we should find said spears, yes?" The wizard will the make way around the caged area towards the staircase, sending Faust out first to scope the area. He will keep to the entrance way and recite what he sees out to the others.

The staircase appears to descend a bit, wrapping about the shrine from below, under the gladitorial pit, to four cages on the other side. In each cage, kneeling, are what appear to be four large clay chultan gladiators.
"Well there are our spears..."Astra announces, called Faust back. He rubs his chin in thought and thinks aloud for the others to chime in with their opinion. "I highly doubt they're going to give us their spears without some sort of a fight, but I wonder if there is a way to get them to fight each other instead... Fight smarter not harder, right?"

OOC: How deep is the gladiator pit? Meaning, could we send one sucker volunteer down in there to fight the statues, while the rest of us stay protected from up here in the gallery? i.e. ranged fighting versus melee combat?
Kira uses the mage hand to touch the first gladiator. Robotically, and unemotionally, it lurches up, and begins to walk to the arena. It does not engage you until it walks into the arena, where it assumes a combat stance, waiting for you to make a move. If you wish to battle it, roll for initiative and let me know where you are exactly.
“Hmm... Zyn? Asha? Do you two think you’ll be okay heading in there while the rest of us help safely from up here?” Astra asks the pair. “I’ll also send Faust with you two for some added assistance if need be.”

"Maybe a Shoogumbi?" Zyn wondered.
"Shagambi." Orvex corrected.
"Shagambi." Zyn said.
"Maybe. Only way to find out is by jumping in the pit."

"Maybe we could lead them into the gladiatorial pit and fight them for the spears?" Zyn suggested.
"That's probably how we'll have to do it, but we'll need to find a way to lure 'em out one at a time."

Zyn thought for a moment. "Perhaps Kira can do that thing she does. She's good at getting people's attention?"
Kira grins and casts mage hand, ready to tap a statue on the signal. "Sure thing! Ready when you are!"
