As Yuan-ti6 incinerates, the rest of the jeering snake men get extremely restless, excited and eager to see a comrade fall, but knowing your deaths will bring honor to the clan. Having draw out this long enough, the crowd dog piles upon Kitsune and Astra and systematically beat you to unconsciousness.
Faust can feel your life force fade. It's almost physically painful. The last sound you hear before darkness consumes you all is the sound of the horn of Ras Nsi, and the deafening cheering of his Yuan-Ti.
You all awaken, painfully, in what appears to be an armory and medical ward. You're on tables. As the darkness lifts, you blink your eyes and groggily come back to consciousness. Everything hurts. You're all back at 5hp. You can smell blood and other fluids. You try and look around. An attractive woman is tending over you, but she is no ordinary woman. A dark tribal Chultan female, but her lower half is a giant snake. She is wearing nothing but a cloth bra and jewelry, revealing, from what you can see, a very impressive physique. A draft reveals you are all stripped down to your undergarments, and weaponless.
The chultan woman sees a few of you wake up, and moving from her medical table, slithers over to you. "Shh. I am Fenthaza. I have been tending your wounds. Be still, you are still in critical condition. You are all in the Fane - home of Ras Nsi. Allow me to mend you all."
Astra emits a quiet groan as he awakens from unconsciousness, a hand going to rub at his temple to assuage the oncoming headache. He doesn't fully recognize the being hovering over them, a confused, "Ma...?"escaping past his lips prior to realizing it wasn't her. When she introduces herself, the wizard sits up from his place on the table. "Ah... Well... I appreciate the help, Fenthaza. I'm... Astra. I hope you don't mind my asking, but... why are you helping us?"

"Be at peace." Fenthaza says, checking on your wounds. "Rest, and heal. Then, all will be explained. Know, you are safe here."she smiles, and leaves, locking the door.
The healing techniques the yuan-ti employ are more tribal and medicinal than magical. It's going to take a while to heal. Over the course of the next few days, you are brought meals secretly and tended to medically - regularly. Bones are set and cast. Wounds are disinfected, stitched, and bandaged. Throughout the days, you noticed that what they are doing to you is, for whatever reason you can't figure out, not allowed. For whatever reason, Fenthaza is nursing you back to health for some mystery reason.
Any questions at Fenthaza are left unanswered, but you can tell she means no harm. The food you receive is edible and not poisoned. Because your wounds, you spend most of the days sleeping and recovering, sometimes talking among yourselves.
As the days pass, you rest and recover on the tables. Go ahead and roll three hit dice to see how many HP you recover.
Zyn groggily awoke. Waves of pain rippled through her and she groaned. She felt drugged. Woozy. Nerve endings on fire. She smelled blood. Then Astra and someone else spoke. Good. Astra is alive. And..so am i? How?
She hurt, and felt cold. She tried to look up. She was down to her cloth bra and underwear, her grey skin ripped and bruised. She was sure she had a broken bone somewhere. A half snake woman tending to her. Too weak to talk, to fight.
She bounced from consciousness to unconsciousness, hoping whatever was happening would either bring her final death, or back to the Ki.
"What are those?" The small gnome stared wide-eyed at the snake people from her hidden spot on the tree branch.
"Shhhh," the tabaxi hissed. "They'll hear you if you don't keep it down, Kira. Those are yuan-ti. We go around them, got it? They're dangerous, and they wouldn't think twice about grabbing you for sacrifice."
"Uuuunh...ow," Kira muttered. Upon realizing where she is, the gnome does her best to keep her sudden jolt of terror under control, trying to remain calm with careful deep breaths.
Fuming, Kitsune remains silent the entire time, angry that her soul was barred from returning back to the Raven Queen. Why did they toy with her like this? Why?! Surely, a punishment needed to be handed out, and she silently counted down the hours, minutes, and seconds until she saw an opening to take to her advantage. For now, though, she'd simply bide her time, heal her physical self, and figure out who this Fenthaza was.

The only sound you all could hear from Kitsune over the preceding days was a whimpering, almost crying, quiet calling to Syndra...
On the fourth day, Zyn rolled on her side and wiped away a stray tear. Sleeping on stone and constantly aching made her eyes sting. She didn't speak much, but she was happy at least her friends were alive. She absentmindedly played with her stitches as she wondered what was in store for all of them.
Around breakfast time, Fenthaza slithered back in again, her dark skin a beautiful contrast against her bright eyes and black hair. She whispered to you in a low tone, as if telling a secret.
"Your wounds have healed enough so that you can move around again. Come. I must transfer you to the prisoner pits. You will follow me. Do as I say and you will live."she then stood up straight and arched her lean muscular back, turning her head towards the door.
"GUARDS. Escort the prisoners with me to the pits. Now."she commanded, and it was so. Several yuan-ti with lower bodies of snakes and upper bodies of men and women with snake faces pushed you along roughly to AREA 8 - the prisoner pits.
The stench of sweat fills the humid air. Muffled sobs and moans rise from four pits with circular iron grates covering them. A chain hooked to each grate stretches over a pulley bolted to the ceiling and coils around an iron winch set into a nearby wall. Iron manacles dangle from hooks on the south wall. To the north, a faintly glowing stone disk covers the floor of an otherwise empty alcove, and carved into the top of the disk is a serpentine symbol.
You are all chained to the wall by the yuan-ti. The room contains four pits, each one a bell-shaped chamber 10 feet deep and 10 feet in diameter. The pits are flooded to a depth of 3 feet.
"Leave us."Fenthaza commands, and it is so. The yuan-ti guards slither away. She waits for them to leave before speaking again. "Welcome to the Fane, an underground temple dedicated to our God, Dendar the Night Serpent. As introduced a few days ago, I am Fenthaza, Second in Command to Ras Nsi, and Temple Priestess. I am the dream interpreter for Ras Nsi, revealing the visions I receive from our God. In return, I sacrifice and torture interlopers for Dendar's pleasure. You are in an underground complex deep beneath Omu."
"Ras Nsi leads the yuan-ti of Omu on a divine mission to usher forth Dendar the Night Serpent and trigger the end of the world. His version of the apocalypse is not imminent, since Ras Nsi is distracted with fears of his own mortality. He has fallen victim to the death curse and is growing weaker by the day, and neither he nor my priests have been able to ascertain the cause or find a remedy. As Ras Nsi’s power wanes, his rivals are preparing to dispose of him and continue their holy mission."
She gives you all a look that clearly indicates she is one of these rivals.
"I have long resented Ras Nsi for hanging onto the threads of his humanity. Now my visions portend ruin at Ras Nsi’s hands, and I actively plot against him. My dreams have revealed a treasure called the Black Opal Crown, hidden deep within the Tomb of the Nine Gods. I'm convinced that the crown is the key to unleashing Dendar the Night Serpent. My plans are to murder Ras Nsi and obtain the crown from the tomb for myself. However, the odds have not been in my favor. I believe, now that you are here, that is about to change."
"I heard about the fight before your capture, you all are quite capable. You once possessed puzzle cubes that can lead into the Tomb of the Nine Gods - I can tell you where they are. I can also tell you where your equipment is. But, most importantly, I can assure your freedom if you murder Ras Nsi. The deal is simple. Do this task for me, and I will allow you to live and go."
