Jeremiah, you become absolutely and completely overwhelmed with emotions of grief, sadness, and terror. You fall to your knees, weeping, and utterly unconsolable. You can't look away from the painting. You moan and wail, crying, so much sadness. You can do nothing but stare at it and scream, tears rolling down your face.
Those who pass the save are rattled not only by the painting, but also by the effect it's having on your companions - but you do not become an emotional wreck. Those who fail suffer the same fate as Jeremiah.
You enter a room that is no longer white marble, but with tiles of all sickening colors of yellow. Only the floor is a stone-like material. The room is strangely empty save for a large and firmly chained lamp attached to the ceiling. It's casting light, and you can tell from the shadows on the ground, but what's truly odd is that the shadow's it's casting do NOT match what's currently in the room - which is you.
The shadow's that are being cast are difficult to make out, they're scrambled and play with your vision. Only those who are extremely smart can figure it out. You can make an INT check to try.
There are three exits to this room, each barricaded by organic plant-like vines.
OOC: Are those of us who failed the WIS check in the painting room with the group in this new area, or are we still hanging back, crying like little whiny school boys?
Clawing at the air as his friends drug him away from the painting, Jimmy continued to cry and scream long past being removed from the room. Perhaps some deep rooted, insane fantasy awoke in his mind, where he was captured by the painting and drug inside. Away from all the horrors of this life. Inside where it's safe.
You manage to gain some inferences about the shadows - how odd, they appear to be displaying shadows that occurred not at THIS moment in time, but from the past - or the future. As your mind struggles to understand this, you take a moment to observe and become a bit more insightful.
Because you passed the INT check, the next saving throw you have to make automatically passes, no matter what it is from. This applies to anyone else who rolls a 14 or above in the INT check.
If you hack through the vines blocking the doors, you can see hallways that apparently lead to what appears to be some sort of alien archive. Who knows what horrors or trap await inside.
Nope. Can't figure it out. The shadows don't do anything else otherwise.
As you enter the Archives, it is clear this part of the "dungeon" is an ancient library of sorts. The Archive is lit by a combination of normal lamps and cages containing luminescent moths. Every single wall in this new area are lined with small shelves containing moldering scrolls and clay tablets.
This particular room has a large tile mosaic of an abstract image of a snake too many. Judging by the dust in the room, you can tell that someone, or something, is walking on the mosaic that is the snake, and not on any other part. Maybe do the same?
Writhing tentacles that appear to be snake tails whip and lash from various parts of west and east walls. This room only has one exit.
As Robin Bear walks across the snake mosaic, something happens in a terrible, swift, split second.
The tentacles lash out, impaling Robin as he walks across. A mind numbingly painful sear wracks your brains, electrically, painfully, and you all jolt awake as if a dream. You find yourselves on the surface again, on the ground, covered in a thick membrane of organic goo. You sit up, you cough, your vision clears, but you know it. You're back on the surface. What the hell just happened? Ezzozito's blown corpse is near, you can see it and smell it - huge, and completely ruptured from the inside out..you're drenched completely and thickly in his innards and fluids.
Skaya is the only one not in this position, looking down upon you all as if she just discovered you - alive! A look of shock and surprise is on her face.
The puss filled hole Ezzozito emerged from has caved in.

No, i'm assuming those who passed carried you all away from the painting into this new room. You are free to RP the situation, however, at any time.

Skaya eyes the shadows cautiously, her blade out and sheathed in dark energy.

About 100 feet? Which part of the mosaic is Robin bear walking over?
He’s walking along the snake to test the route...
