"Oh, I would like to know a bit more than that. Such as rather or not she ever mentioned plans beyond 'assisting' you lot. As well as her name, frankly, or at least the name she deemed to give you and yours. And if you think of anything else that might... inconvenience her, all the better. After all, you hardly owe her anything... especially after she abandoned you and yours and the first sign of real trouble."Rhogar said, weaving from frank questioning to almost goading Kadroth to betray a former ally.

Kazri approaches Rhogar. "Mr. Nimbatuul, if you would have a moment. Runa here says she owns her allegiance to Levistus. I wonder if she knows anything about the frozen effigy that you saw earlier."

Rhogar side-eyed Kazri for a moment, before crossing his arms over his chest with his staff snugged up against his chest. "I'm none too surprised to be honest... About the depths of her alliance, that is. But for better or worse, the Speaker already delivered his say on the matter of the rest. And while we might not entirely agree, I-..."He catches himself there, and with a huff says, "I'm going off tangent. Once I've heard what Kadroth has to say to my last few questions, I can see to her next."The dragonborn concludes, accepting the risk that came with the stance.
Krom, as Rhogar places his hand on his shoulder, quickly nods to the dragonborn and restrains himself from further questioning Kadroth. Barely keeping in check his temper, the dwarf moves within the room in a position where he can observe Kadroth and Runa.
Kadroth smirked. "Avarice was her name, some wizard from the Arcane Brotherhood. She seeks a lost Netherese city called Ythryn. I know nothing more than that. We tried to aid her but what she knows of this place she did not share it with us. We were not much use to her as we were focused on the duergar threat."
At that moment Vellynne stepped in
"Yes, Avarice. I thought that might be her. She is a member of the Arcane Brotherhood. But what ties she has to those who serve Levistus I do not know unless she also serves the Archdevil. That would not surprise me of what I know of her. We are certainly rivals if nothing else though we are both of the Arcane Brotherhood. She is power hungry and dangerous. If she seeks this city, she does so not only for her own power, but also for Levistus. She must be stopped."
"Oh, what a tangled web we weave. We need to find this city as soon as possible. With the dragon threat eliminated it seems all is converging on this lost city."
Chill looked over to Runa.
"You were not aligned with this Levistus when we first met were you Runa? What changed between now and then that you gave your allegiance to Levistus? How did that happen?"
"And to think I almost had hope,"Rhogar murmured with a slightly amused on his face. But then it's back to the more serious minded not only redirected his gaze to Runa, but also whatever lingering magic of his potion yet remained in his system in a bid to read her surface thoughts during Chill's opener. But much like with Kadroth, he'd refrain from delving deeper least Runa clammed up altogether.
Once she's said her piece, and he'd convey the truth of them to Kazri, Rhogar would move on to looking over the cultist, forcing off hoods, hats, and any other obstruction to their face. All with the intended goal in mind to see if any matched the description of Huarwar.

"No. When we met at the lair of the white dragon I did not follow Levistus. After we parted ways Brakkis and I headed north from Phandalin and into Icewind Dale. We got lost and then caught in a blizzard and nearly froze to death. We would have perished in the wilderness had Levistus not intervened as we were freezing to death, offering a second chance at life in exchange for our absolute devotion. After we agreed to follow him, a pale glow caught our eye in the snow nearby, leading to the discovery of a sword-shaped amulet. Each of these amulets had an inner radiance that provided warmth and aid, protecting us against the cold while guiding us safely back to civilization. Once we reached Ten-Towns, the talismans lost their inner radiance, We keep our amulets as signs of our devotion. Many of us have the same story."
Rhogar reads her surface thoughts and they bring up the biting cold and the near death experience.
When Rhogar starts looking at the faces of the remaining captured cultists Runa asks
"Devil worshiper or not, we have to stop this Avarice. She can not gain access to Ythryn and the magic hidden in that city." says the dwarf while placing an hand on his warhammer.
As Runa tells her story, Krom listens with particular attention adding at the end "I pity you. You were tricked into selling your soul and you do not even realize it. Absolute devotion to a devil means eternal damnation for you."
"... Indeed, Master Krom. Though, it is an understandable trap to have fallen for. As few mortals are in a position to give much stock to their afterlife, and the trials and tribulations that yet await them. Life upon the material plane can already be fairly harsh, and has it's own distractions to mind or navigate." Rhogar cracks a sad grin. "But, we are each responsible for our own choices, even when it seemed as if the alternative... in the moment felt just as terrible, if not worse! And we must go on to bear the weight of those choices, least we become a slave to the whims of our lesser selves, if not that of others undeserved of our attention, loyalty, or devotion."
On that note, he looks fully to Runa. "Forgive me. It was not my intention to lecture, but words can get away from me. To answer your question, have you seen or heard of anyone by the name of Huawar? He came in contact with a strange stone, and then was later visited by a pair of tieflings bearing I believe a symbol akin to the one you and yours have been wearing."The dragonborn goes on to describe Huawar as the group had been told, before standing by patiently for an answer.

"Perhaps someday you will be on the edge of death and look into its deep unknowns and be offered the chance to step away and you will take that offer no matter who makes it. Or perhaps not. It does not matter, we took the offer as given and here we are. Brakkis and others paid with their lives. One day I will do the same. So be it."
Runa answered matter of factly.
"As for Huawar, I know who you speak of. He was in the gate. Perhaps he is among the fallen as he is not here with us."
Kazri's expression softens after hearing Runa's story. Somehow, she feels that they share a similar story, and that they are both lost souls just trying to survive. She takes out a small knife and cuts Runa loose. "So, what does your master wishes you to do now?"

Chill frowned at the thought of telling Huawar's mother that her son was dead. They would need to confirm it out course but with all of the fighting it seemed to Chill the worst had happened to the young man.

Though unwavering in his conviction, Rhogar still acknowledged Runa's acceptance of her fate in a faint nod. However, even he cannot help but grimace at the news, and glance back warily towards the doors. "Then it seems I know what my next task will be, if but... for confirmation." He looks then to Krom and Chill, wholly unconcerned about a possible attack from Runa. "I can think of no other questions to ask. Krom does not directly replies to Runa, but insteads he says "Devils, wearing duergar's skin, were among the duergar and played a not small role in unleashing the dragon and stirring them into attacking Icewind Dale. I wonder if Levistus was behind that too. Or maybe another archdevil was behind it and Levistus decided to hinder this other scheme by increasing his followers in the region and attempt to gain some kind of advantage on his rival." The dwarf pauses a moment for scratching his chin before continuing "Anyway, I agree with Rhogar, let's check the dead before moving on." "Runa, do not attempt anything foolish or you are goint to meet your patron sooner than later." says as he follows the dragonborn. "You should try to do some good for once, maybe it will redeem your soul."
Runa looked over at Kadroth and then sighed. Kadroth sneers as he speaks. "Looks like you are in charge for now. Leave the city as they have allowed."
She then looks to the other prisoners. "Get out of the city. We will find a place to meet up. And take no vengeance against the people, we will simply leave. Wait outside the gates and I will join you in a moment."
She then turns her attention to Rhogar. "I will help you find Huawar and then we leave." It doesn't take long for Runa to help you identify the body of Huawar, one of the cultists killed in the initial fighting. "I am sorry, he seemed like a fine young man, though I didn't know him well." she says when he is found.
As she prepares to leave when you are finished with her she tries to answer any further questions. "My guess, Krom, is that my master was trying to hinder the actions of one of his rivals. It only makes sense. Why would he be behind the dragon but actively work to have us fight and stop the dragon? As for plans, right now I know of none."
Kazri and Chill would both deem that Runa speaks the truth.
"Our paths seemed fated to cross, perhaps we will see each other again someday." she tells Kazri as she leaves. There is no malice or veiled warning in her words but no friendship either.
Chill hung his head after finding Huawar dead. "We will need to make the journey back to Bremen at some point to let his mother Cora know his fate. That will be a hard conversation but it must be done."
After that and when the other cultists would be freed Chill went up onto the wall and kept an eye on them as they gathered to leave. There were few left that would make their way out of the castle but he wanted to be certain they did leave.
As Runa leaves the town, Kazri returns her greatsword. "Yes, I do hope that we shall meet in better terms. It does not matter to me who you worship, or who is your master." (The fact that her master is an archdevil does give her pause) "As long as you are helping the Icewind Dale community. At the end of the day, that is our goal. Do the most good, where we can. Farewell." Kazri extends her hand.

Chill grinned as the tiefling spoke. He knew he was spilling his guts, he just didn't understand why. He was going to hang this day, why speak at all?
He glanced over at Rhogar. He downed some potion, probably reading the man's mind right now.
Chill remained quiet for the moment. His companions seemed to have the questioning under control. No need for him to interject at this time.
Kadroth seemingly ignored Krom and his anger and instead answers Rhogar.
