Reaction(Rhogar): Cast (2nd level)Righterous Retribution on Hyena. Dex Save(DC 16) to take half of 24 Fire Damage.
Rhogar's roar of pain turns into a guttural curse in draconic as he whipped around to glare at the Hyena creature. "Foolish thing! The price of feasting upon the divine shall be your hide!" As he says this, the blood leaking from his wound transformed into blue flames that lept at Rhogar's attacker, threatening to consume it utterly in righteous flames. But retribution alone isn't enough for the dragonborn, as he once again traced a pattern in the air summoning more divine flames to purge the wicked shadows and Hyena both, before sending in Gorrah to try and finish the job on the Hyena.
Action(Rhogar): Twinned(1sp) cast (Cantrip)Scorching Grace on 1 Shadow targeting Vellynne and the other on Hyena. Dex Save(DC 16) or take 9 Radiant Damage.
Bonus Action(Rhogar): Command Gorrah to Strike!
Movement(Gorrah): Into melee with Hyena.
Action(Gorrah): Deadly Stinging on Shadow Creature attack Chill(preferably weakened one). (Melee, Lethal)Sting - Attack: 18 Damage: 8 of magical piercing. And if target creature is not immune to [Tooltip Not Found], Con Save(DC 16) or become poisoned. If failed by 5 or more, they are rendered unconscious for 1 hour or until poison is cured.
Future Reaction(Rhogar): If Gorrah would be hit by an attack, burning reaction to halve the damage with Investiture of the Chain Master.

"By the All-Father's beard, that undead is fast as it is resilient." says Krom as the Hyena creature dashes away from the group after being wounded several times. "Shall we pursuit it? I do not know if we can catch up with it. Chill probably could, but it's a creature too dangerous to face alone and we know that this complex of caverns is inhabitated by dangerous denizens. I think that we'll just have to be extra careful and be ready to face it again if returns."
The dwarf walks by Chill, taking a moment to inspect the unnatural wound caused by the shadow's touch. "Incorporal undead creatures like those shadows feed on our lifeforce. A simple healing hymn is usually not enough to counter the side effects of an undead's touch. The next time we rest, I can draw a healing rune upon your skin; it should help your body to regain naturally its strength. I'll also prepare a more potent healing hymn in case we will need it in the heat of battle."
Rhogar scowled and lurched forward as if to pursue the Hyena. But his own immediate call to pursuit is held in check by a sharp, warning cry from Gorrah as she swooped in to draw his gaze... and his ire. The heat in his eyes, however, lingers not for long as Krom's words cut deeper into the slowly receding fog of righteous indignation. "Mn... Leaving it be can be just as dangerous. But, I wouldn't put it past the creature to be trying to lure us into another ambush. Perhaps one in which other members of like can join in. After all, we've yet to see neither hide or scale of a kobold, and we all know how infamous their uncanny knack for practical traps can be."He admits as much aloud, but towards the end sent the arcane eye down the eastern passage.
"I am sorry, Chill. But any respite you may wish to seek will need to be delayed for a little while longer. At least until we find some place a bit more defensible than this. Yes, we do have the, uhm, one magical implement to guarantee rest in a pinch I believe -- but, best we reserve that one for an emergency. Now, let's continue southward. I sent my eye off to pursue the creature and hopefully keep us better informed of its movements, if nothing else."

Krom scratches his beard as he nods. "You are probably right, Rhogar. That undead could be leading us to another ambush. For the moment it's better to continue southward. The magical eye could help us find the way to the hidden city, maybe it would be for the best if we keep it close by." The dwarf adjusts the grips on his hammer and shield as he prepares to resume the exploration of the cave complex. "I'll guard our back."
Chill returned his rapier to its sheath and picked up his crossbow. "It's a good thing I'm agile, strength is not my thing. I would also prefer not to chase such a creature on my own. How much can really live in these cold depths anyways except the undead? I will be ok for now but at some point some rest will be needed. Perhaps that is all that will be needed."
Rhogar seems to hesitate for a moment, but then nods his head in acquiescence to Krom's suggestion. And though he needed not to, he makes a curt hand gesture to redirect the eyes course down the immediate southern tunnel from the group. "Ahead of us on the immediate southern path. Though I cannot say that I entirely agree with leaving our strongest defender against this undead threat at our back, as an ill-fated ambush may make things a touch tricky." He admits with a grimace. "However, I will have faith. Ms. Vellynne. You may wish to stick closer to the center of the group going forward as well. Lady Kazri? If you wouldn't mind taking point again."The Bronzeborn request and ready to follow, seeing as by then his 'eye' would have a small lead on the group. "It will take more than a few undead to best this dwarf, Rhogar" replies Krom with a chuckle before saying in a more serious tone "As long as we stay close together, I can protect us with the blessings the All-Father granted me." As the group starts their march through the southern passage, Krom murmurs an hymn of guidance to enhance his senses. The dwarf pays particular attention to any noises behind them.
Rhogar sends the Arcane Eye out in the direction the hyena creature fled. It passes by a cavern to the north. You are able to glance inside and see that this twenty-foot-high cavern tapers to a dead end about 30 feet in. A dozen human skeletons sheathed in frost lie on the uneven floor. He can see that the next cavern has a ten-foot-high ceiling covered with icicles that nearly touch the floor, forming thin stalactites. Several of these icicles have been broken off, leaving paths that lead to the cave’s four exits—narrow tunnels to the east and south, and wider tunnels to the west and northeast.
Meanwhile the party moves south down a set of naturally made stairs. This empty cave has a 20-foot-high domed ceiling, naturally formed stairs leading up to north where you just came from. Another passage runs to the east.
Another cave opens up to the south west.
The following features are common throughout the Caves of Hunger:
Ceilings. Most cavern ceilings are 30 feet high and made of smooth ice. Tunnel ceilings range from 10 to 15 feet high unless otherwise noted.
Darkness. All areas are cast in complete darkness unless otherwise noted.
Echoes. Sound travels quickly here. All Wisdom (Perception) checks to hear sounds in these caves have advantage.

Krom rapidly scans the empty cavern before pointing at the south west passage "Shall we check in that direction first? Or do we turn east? This cavern does not seem to hold any secrets, at least to me." The dwarf, murmuring a hymn of guidance, spends a couple of minutes examining the walls of the cavern for symbols or markings.
"East would place us on the general path as that canine-esque creature, and its possible kin. So, best avoided for a time yet."Rhogar replied while mentally directing the eye down the southern tunnel from it. "No, best we take the south west path there, and see what we can see first. And who knows. If all works out in our favor, the creature may yet have a use in keeping that tiefling distracted should she yet find her way here." He continued, though would add no further pressure upon seeing Krom's interest in the walls. Once the dwarf had clearly concluded his own investigations however, Rhogar turns and nods to Kazri to proceed once more in leading the party.
