The three of you that ate a pear feel a magical charm fall over you/
Kazri
Charm of Restoration. This charm has 6 charges. You can use an action to expend some of its charges to cast one of the following spells: greater restoration (4 charges) or lesser restoration (2 charges). Once all its charges have been expended, this charm vanishes from you.
Chill
Charm of Sending. This charm allows you to cast the sending spell as an action, no components required. Once used, this charm vanishes from you.
Krom
Charm of Cure Wounds. This charm allows you to cast the cure wounds spell (3rd-level version) as an action, no components required. Your spellcasting ability for this charm is Wisdom. Once used, this charm vanishes from you.
Vellynne follows with you but declines to eat a pear for the moment.
"Delicious! This pear is the finest that I have ever tasted, Hathowyn." says Krom after eating the enchanted fruit.
"This will take at least half an hour, get yourself confortable." says the dwarf to the rest of the group as he puts down his backpack and begins to arrange in front of him the ring, the mantle and the staff before starting the hymn of identification.
In hearing and seeing everyone's reaction, Gorrah began longing look at the pears. But whereas she'd boldly flutter over to the Dryad and communicate her wishes in her own latent psionic way, Rhogar appeared more interested in studying the others after the consumed the fruit, and taking a few mental notes. "If that is to be the case, Master Krom, then best we take a whole hour and a bit more than before we rightly move on. After all, we need to cover as much ground as we can before the tiefling invariably finds her way here."He says while finding a thick enough root to sit on before closing his eyes and seeming to either meditate or simply be at rest until called upon.
(OOC: And if able to complete a short rest, spoilers will have the hit die rolled for Rhogar and Gorrah. And unless people feel they need an extra d8 hit die, I may change up his actions over the hour to be cooking up Chef worthy treats for some added healing)
Rhogar SR Healing(1): 11. (Spending a warlock hit die and gaining maximum value thanks to Gift of the Everliving One.)
"Hummm... The pear is indeed... Delicious?" Kazri is surprised by the offering, and slightly embarrassed that she doubted the Dryad. "We thank you for your hospitality Hathowyn." She says with a bow.
(Kazri can offer to assist Rhogar with the cooking, but be warned, her culinary skills might not be that great.)

You settle in for a short rest. The arcane eye had disappeared and Rhogar could no longer use it to scout the area. Hathowyn tells you of her trees and you learn that she has been here in her grove for a a very long time. Though she cannot tell the days, the years, maybe even the centuries, she is very lonely and welcomes the friendly company.
Krom spends his time identifying the items found along the way.
Krom nods in satisfaction upon completing the identification rituals. The dwarf turns towards the others "Shall we take the southern passage and seek those one-eyed creatures? If they are intelligent, they may know where the entrance to the city is located."
Krom scratches his beard as he continues "The drow might possess some knowledge too, but it's very unlikely that they will share it with us peacefully..."
Rhogar snorts and opens an eye for the first time since beginning his 'meditations' over the past hour. "The same could be said of the one-eyed creatures. But I confess, I am curious to learn more about them, and to confirm if perhaps they too are the result of netherese meddling, a byproduct of their fall, or perhaps even something unearthed when the city fell."He frankly admits. "My bet considering the creature in ice we passed that they are one of the first two. But clearly to some extent these tunnels extend far deeper than any of us expected.... Mn... Fah! Enough conjecture though. Let us be off."He says as he arose to his feet with Gorrah nestled once again behind his neck.

"The one eyed creature sounds good to me." Kazri readies her shield and sword. "Oli, protect Ms Harpell."

As you make ready to leave, Hathowyn begins asks you to stay, Her words sounding almost desperate as she sounds more lonely than she had ever before. But clearly you have no intention of staying in small grove of trees deep under a glacier no matter how magical such a place may be. As you gather your gear she asks again right before you set off.
Everyone make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or be magically charmed (Kazri's Aura of Protection gives +3 on saves)

It's only for a moment, but Rhogar's expression softens at the Dryad's words before rigidity return to his face as the dragonborn renews his resolve. "I am truly sorry, my lady, but we have little choice except to proceed. Far too much is at stake. And..." He sighs. "-and if the goddess should be allowed to continue her work in the region, even this grove of yours may succumb to her will should she choose to be more thorough in locking this region in a truly eternal winter." Rhogar explains, hoping to soften the impact of the group's decision, but with a guilty heart knowing the words to be cold comfort.
Sensing as much, Gorrah (assuming she'd truly whwarted the charm), glides over and lands at the dryad's feet. At which point she looks back just once to the group, before turning again to the Dryad and conveying in telepathic images her intentions to stay behind and keep Hathowyn company... at least until the group returns, of course. And in seeing as much, Rhogar just sighs and shakes his head, then looked to Hathowyn and tried to gauge her reaction.
Krom nods as Rhogar speaks and then adds "I thank you for your hospitality, but we cannot stay. People are suffering and dying, we have to stop the Frostmaiden or all will be lost."

She did not try to persuade Oli as she could not speak to him. Even Gorrah was an afterthought. But she does brighten at the offer from Gorrah to stay with her, for at least as long as you explore the southern cavern.
You move into the south passage. Huddled together at the west end of this ten-foot-high cave are four hunched creatures with spiny backs and sharp claws. Each one stares at you with a single unblinking eye.
The following features are common throughout the Caves of Hunger:
Ceilings. Most cavern ceilings are 30 feet high and made of smooth ice. Tunnel ceilings range from 10 to 15 feet high unless otherwise noted.
Darkness. All areas are cast in complete darkness unless otherwise noted.
Echoes. Sound travels quickly here. All Wisdom (Perception) checks to hear sounds in these caves have advantage.
