"Sorry lass, sorry Oli!" says Krom as the boat rams into a chunk of ice.
As the boats reach the open water area, Krom asks, loud enough so that Chill, Rekuberk and Rhogar can also hear him, "Do you see anything strange? Beside those chucks of ice I mean."
The dwarf scans the area around both boats as he speaks. (Perception17)
"Maybe if we act like normal fishermen, throwing our nets in the water and so, the monster will show himself."
"It's all right Master Krom." Kazri checks to make sure Oli is safe. "Good call Mr. Onc. Catching a few fish it is then..." Kazri observes the others, and try to be useful.

Chill gives Rhogar a sheepish look when he crashed the boat into some ice at the start. Concentrating he does a better job and is able to avoid further trouble.
Once out in the lake he sets the oars aside and grabs one of the fishing rods.
"Nothing else to do out here but wait. Might as well catch some of these trout they keep taking about."
((I guess we fish for a few hours or until something happens?))
"As good a plan as any. Plus, it feels its been a while since I've been able to do this sort of thing." Rhogar admits, grinning. "You'd think working alongside the docks in Neverwinter for so long might yield plenty of opportunities. But alas, as often as I tasted the salt in the air, and even got to swim with the local local sea elves in the area, the old past time funnily never came up. Not that I didn't enjoy my time there all the same."

Rekuberk nods as he moved to grab a net, taking a few moments to make sure that he was using it correctly. "I am in much the same boat..." Rekuberk says, shaking his head at the lake pun. "While having spent sometime on a boat in my youth it was never to fish. My father enjoyed it when he was not busy or locked away with his studies but it never held much interest for me as I was more engaged with the use of my blade."
Kazri observes Rekuberk as he casts his net, and she tries to follow. "Actually, I have never been on a vessel on the open water. To tell the truth. I guess there is always a first for everything." The halo around her neck glows slightly, for she is worry that she will compromise the mission with her inexperience with the task at hand.

The lake is still and quiet for the next hour. A fine time for some fishing. Kazri and Chill are both able to hook a knucklehead trout and reel it in. Rekuburk gets one on the line but while trying to reel it in it gets away. Rhogar has no luck.
Another hour passes and you sink deeper into your hoods and coats trying to stay warm. Kazri and Rekuburk come up empty while Chill lands another trout and Rhogar gets his first.
Your lines are back in the water when ripples disrupt the surface of the lake, causing your boat to bob from side to side. A large mass glides through the dark water below you. Suddenly a large creature breaches the water with its fins and splashes water into your boats.
"It looks like that we have found our lake monster! Prepare yourself!" Krom, paying attention to not being thrown overboard as the boat bobs on the water, readies his blessed warhammer. As the dwarf looks at the creature, trying to understand what kind of creature it may be, he mentally checks the hymns he has committed to his memory preparing himself to unleash Moradin's fire upon the monster.
"What is that thing? A massive snake?" Chill yells as he tosses the fishing gear aside and grabs the crossbow he set down in front of him ready to take a shot if the creature reappears.
Kazri is surprised that she was able to reel anything out of the water. When she sees that she was actually able to catch a fish, she gives it to Oli. It almost bring a smile to her face.
When she sees the whatever came out of the water, her halo glows brighter, she puts the fishing equipment back into the boat, and readies her Dragon Slayer Sword and shield. She tries to study the creature so she can later add to Tali's notebook. She shouts. "Be careful Oli!!"

"Ah Fahk!"Rhogar exclaimed while trying to hurridly reel the line back up into place. "Think you can speak to'im, Kazri?"He called after, looking every bit as wary as the others. Yet without waiting for an answer, Draconic mind searches desperately for any odd lessons of Vixix pretaining to such a creature. Though in doing so, the Bronze Dragonborn only had the spare wherewithal and focus to hold tight to the edges of the boat. Just as Gorrah can only cower in the shadows of Rhogar's hood.
