You begin to move about the room to explore further and several things happen at the same time.
As Rhogar moves towards the western door to check it and the room behind he feels the floor shift and begin to give way below him. Chill is just calling a warning to Rhogar that the floor is weak as it starts to collapse.
Rhogar make a DEX saving throw, with advantage, due to Chill's timely warning.
Krom, who was going to follow after Rhogar, feels a thrumming vibration in his hand as he holds and examines the strange gyroscope. He looks at it and its core glows with a golden radiance as bright as a candle flame.
Without any other warning it suddenly blazes into a sphere of bright light that encompasses Krom, Kazri and Rekuburk.
Krom, Kazri and Rekuburk must each must make a DC 17 Constitution saving throw, taking 144 radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
(Aura of Protection - While you are conscious, you grant all friendly creatures (including you) within 10 ft. a +3 bonus to all saving throws. Aura of Warding - You and friendly creatures within 10 ft. of you have resistance to damage from spells.)

Due to the timely warning from Chill, Rhogar finds he is able to grab the edge of the remaining floor and is hanging from it. He can try to pull himself up, doing so with a successful DC 10 Strength (Athletics) check, and Chill is close enough that he could help granting advantage to the roll.
As the burst of radiant energy subsides Krom and Rekuburk are still standing though heavily wounded. Kazri however has fallen to the floor and seems to not be alive.
Rhogar instinctively popped the claws in scrabbling to hold himself steady. He unsteadily starts to pull himself forward with or without assistance. However, between the flash of light and any outcries of pain or concern after, the Bronze quickly utters a "I got this. Got to the others, Chill!", before barking a sharp word in draconic. Almost instantly, his body turns into a golden mist that within moments zips its way back to sturdier ground of the main area in view, before then solidifying again into the Bronze scaled Dragonborn.
---> Casting Celestial Step in place of the Strength Check.
He needs a moment or two after to get his bearings. As soon as he see the fallen form of Kazri, he calls her name, and starts to step to her, but stops short and starts immediately looking around for enemies. "What happened?!"He barked at noone in particular, fin fully up if awkwardly so from the hood, and mouth sparking from a lightning breath building and threatening to be released at a moment's notice.

Krom, barely standing from the explosion, coughs a huge amount of blood almost dropping his war hammer. His eyes dart around looking for enemies, but as soon as he sees the unmoving and seriously wounded Kazri on the floor, the dwarf shouts with a voice full of grief and anger "Nooo!" He then immediately starts to chant an hymn of healing (Aura of Vitality) sending pulses of Moradin's warm fire towards Kazri and all the wounded members of the group.
(@DM the spell lasts 1 minute and I will proceed to heal with my 1st bonus action Kazri for 10, I will keep healing the group as long as I do not lose concentration. 2~4 rounds of healing still on Kazri for 21, 5~7 rounds of healing on Rekuberk for 20, I will take the last 3 rounds of healing for 18)
Chill had darted forward to help Rhogar but the huge dragonborn had simply disintegrated into a golden mist and then reappeared safely on the floor behind him.
"Uh, wow. That's a skill any thief would want to have." he looked around at the others. "I don't know what happened. Some sort of blast or energy burst or something."
Seeing Kazri down "Is she ok? She isn't dead is she?"
Krom casts his spell and over the next minute he heals Kazri, Rekuburk and himself. Rhogar is able to misty step out of danger as the group composes itself and watches in breathless anticipation that Kazri is indeed still alive.
Rekuberk howls in a mix of pain and anger as the radiant explosion causes him to enter a rage. Looking around for an enemy to slaughter. As he and the others are healed he slowly calms but is clearly feeling the orcish blood in his views as he paces back and fourth with his sword at the ready.
One moment, Kazri’s lifeless body lays on the frozen ground, the next, the Paladin opens her eyes and take a big gulp of breath. Jolted by the “going to the other side” experience, she tries to get up, but her legs are still a little shaky. “The blueprints!! They are in his laboratory!!” She tries to move, but stumbles again. She is frustrated for her body is not responding to her commands. “Master Krom. We must go to the laboratory. There are some blueprints that we must use in order to fix this device.” Slowly, Kazri get up and show her companions the paperwork that Macreadus showed her.”

Over the course the next minute of healing, Rhogar stayed tense, as Chill's response at least had not precluded the possibilities of enemies yet being about in the area. Once Kazri finally set up spouting a words that, judging by the relieved yet confused look on the Bronze's face at least, was utter nonsense. He then just shakes his head, before heading over to set aside his staff and place a steadying hand on both Krom and Kazri at once. "Easy there, Lady Kazri. Take a moment to breathe first. We cannot hope to keep up with such hurried words."He said as hands began glowing with a golden light, that upon briefly flowing into Kazri and Krom, both warm and leave a strange tingling sensation.

Suddenly a look of recognition crosses Chili's face.
"Wait, did you say Macreadus? Macreadus was Copper's friend. He's the one we were checking on. Where did you speak to Macreadus? Where is he? Copper said he was working on something here"
“Macreadus!! Yes!! We must get his…” Kazri realizes that she is not making any sense to her colleagues, and she is not helping the situation in her stressed state. So she sits on the floor and calms down. She takes a couple of deep breaths, then opens her eyes again. “My apologies gentlemen.” She tries to get up by grabbing the nearest furniture, or person that is able to support her weight. “When the device exploded, I took the full force of the explosion. However, instead of dying, I end up…” Kazri is trying to find the correct wording. “Well, not in the ethereal plane, but in this border ethereal, actually. I was able to see the cabin, and also all of you. Then I saw the gnome… Well, I believe I saw his head, that’s it.” Kazri slowly guides the group to the laboratory. “He is, or actually, was trying to create a device that could end this eternal winter, but it malfunctioned, and it ended his life. Unfortunately, his spirit or his soul is stuck in this cabin, and he is not able to leave this place, and thus he is not able to move on.” Kazri get into the laboratory, and looks for the device’s blueprints and plans. “He said that we must use the blueprints in order to fix the device. Which is supposed to be able to control the weather.” (Does Kazri need to roll in order to find the paperwork?)

Krom thanks Rhogar as the dragonborn's magic heals some of his wounds. The dwarf then focuses on what Kazri said and following her in the laboratory asks "Are you sure? A device that can control the weather? There are spells that can accomplish that kind of effect, but only for a limited period of time and only in a small area." The dwarf pauses for a moment "However I really hope that Macreadus's device, once completed will be able to counter the powers of the Frostmaiden." Krom looks around the laboratory "and you say that the spirit of Macreadus is still bound to this place? If we find the blueprints, maybe his spirit will finally be able to rest."
This room contains a fireplace and two empty bookcases. Tacked to the walls and strewn across the floor are frost-covered blueprints. Facedown on the floor next to one of the blueprints is a tiny man made of clay.
The blueprints show different experimental designs for a weather-controlling magic device. One of these designs resembles a gyroscope and closely resembles the object you found earlier.

Macreadus,
I’ve had enough of this damned, relentless cold. I feel it creep into my bones, my head, my heart. I’m heading back to Ten-Towns for a decent meal and a warm bed. I fear this endless winter has numbed your mind, and any tinkerer worth their chains can see the Summer Star is a fool’s errand. Maybe without me here to incessantly complain to, you’ll finally snap out of your obsession.
If you truly insist on dedicating your remaining days to this doomed project, might I suggest that three is better than two. I considered telling you before, but you were particularly rude about the dinner I made last night.

While a touch surprised at the revelation, Rhogar looked on only the more sternly her reaction to the name. But once she seemed to finally calm down, he breath a sigh of relief, and more than readily offer a hand up when the time came for it. He would continue as well to act as that supportwhen walking back to the workshop, expite having hunch so much to do so. "One can only hope, Master Krom. But in either event, if this device of his can be completed, then at least it was... not all for naught." Rhogar said solemnly after the dwarf spoke his piece.
Upon arrival in the Lab and seeing the tiny man, Rhogar cocks his head curiously at it, and couldn't help getting closer to study it it a bit. "Is this... or was this..." He trails off there to pokes at the man's shoulder, and if his spell should still be up, focus on it intently while trying to discover its purpose and possible repurposing.
