Heading towards the sanitorium, Helena walks past the guards and sees a man in a lab coat who introduces themselves as Dr. Swanson. Helena assured him that she needs no treatment, and inquired about asking a few of the patients questions about their experiences in the woods outside of town. Being led to a few of the more stable patients, Helena uses a mixture of trying to ease out the information, reading between the lines, and understanding some of the more holy of the bunch.
Questions: 3
Any info about her sister’s whereabouts
Info about what or who a Herald of Sephalus is
If they know anything about the mountains to the west
Persuasion: 16
Insight: 5

Some of the further gone don’t make much sense, or are just too hard to read. Even though she knows it’s not their fault, Helena still gets frustrated.
Helena has an unsettling time in the Sanitarium, as howls of madness and cryptic whispers resonate through the building. Many of the patients cackle at her futile attempts to gather information, though one does prove to be a little more helpful.
Helena meets a gnome who wears a ragged wizard's robe, her mind pushed to the brink as a result of too much arcane experimentation. The gnome scoffs at the questions.
"There was another like you who was curious. She even looked like you. Your sister, I assume? The girl went to the Wizard's Tower, but left with quite a temper. She must of thought the head mage was a buffoon. I would agree."
She pauses and scratches a few arcane symbols in the wall, muttering to herself. A few minutes pass as the gnome seems to ignore Helena, but she suddenly turns her attention back.
"Oh yes, we were discussing your sister? Rumors say she was looking for something off the map, past the river in the swamp. Sounds like crazy talk to me, and I'm the one stuck in the Sanitarium."
She chuckles.
"I don't know anything about Sephalus or a Herald. Try the library at the Wizard's Tower. You may learn a thing or two..."
(Helena gains 2 Stress, for a total of 2.)

After hearing what the properties of the bonnet and locket are, Limine quickly divides the gold as she previously tried to do. One gem for each and 40 gold for each. "I do not need for these."She regards the items. "Now, finally, I'm going to take my rest. My legs are screaming at me for walking for so long. Goodnight!"
After she completes her sleep, Limine will go down and do what she's good at. First, she goes to the armoury and buys a studded leather armour. In the future, she'll remember to wear it before going out of town. After that, she'll spend time at the gambling tables playing card games and talking to people around, listening for rumours.

Jack will spend his first week getting the lay of the land in Trishdale. He spends each morning and evening in the common room of the inn. He doesn't have the coin for gambling but makes do with a few ales at the end of each day, and finds conversation where he may, even if just to chew the fat with the barkeep.
He spends his days wandering the town; his first few spent in the Wizards Tower, where he files down row after row of books, picking out random titles that seem interesting: he's not looking for anything in particular. He also makes his way to the barracks and tries to strike up conversation with one of the constables. He is interested in finding out who's who in Trishdale, how common petty crimes are or if things are relatively safe here, he hopes in doing so he will find out if there are any tendrils of the network he was investigating back home out this way. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise him.
Sulskan leaves his home this day with a new resolve. He is smiling broadly and anyone can see that he almost has a bounce in his step. For anyone who has been in Trishdale for an extended period of time, this is a shocker given that Sulskan usually never even leaves his home. Entering the tavern, Sulskan immediately goes to the common room where he settles down and begins talking to people about the wilderness. Hoping to glean some information that might allow him to advance his newfound objective. If he cannot find any information, then he will head to the Sanitorium to seek information from someone who might actually be able to provide it to him.

Helena thanks the crazy wizard lady before leaving quickly. She knew it was dangerous to go alone, so she would need to find some people willing to go past the map, or at the very least, find a job in the right direction. She heads back to the tavern, hoping she’d hear a few more rumors that could start her on a path.
The gruff barkeep doesn't seem to be very talkative, but the ale is quite good. There do appear to be a few other adventurer types in the tavern, if Jack's interested in talking to them.
Later, he enters the half-ruined wizard's tower and peruses the library. The old tomes contain cryptic symbols and pictograms, and thus aren't at all entertaining. Though the head mage Master Baern yells at him to take better care of the books, he doesn't learn anything of substance.
The Barracks is an imposing, fortress like structure. Jack heads for the Watch Station, a non-descript wooden building outside the fortress, home to the constables of Trishdale. From inside, Jack can hear a loud argument. The guards at the front door glare at him and tell him to wait.
Upon hearing the conversation, Limine joins in. "Hey, I couldn't help but overhear what you were just talking about. Could you tell me more about this... Rutherford? I'm a traveller, you see, and such a thing might interest me. Surely, there's nothing you can lose from sharing the story."

The two gamblers immediately hush up as Limine approaches them. One of them, a grizzled old man with long beard, takes a swig of ale before replying.

A woman clad in thick black clothes that have more than a few, patches stitches and tears steps in the tavern. Attached to the clothes is a big hood which the woman has up to obscure her face. From inside the hood a thick streak of hair black silky hair flows down and rests on the front of her body. A thick long brown leather jacket is draped over the black clothes she is wearing. Her leather pants seem to be stretched around her legs in strange way, almost like there is a layer of cotton or something between the leather pants and her skin. Her sandal clad feet are covered in black wrappings. The feet seem a bit oddly shaped as well. Perhaps this woman has some kind of deformity in her legs? If she does, then it doesn't seem to slow her down at all. The woman's form tower over most others, standing at an impressive 6 feet 8 inches. Her frame also seems bulky and muscular. In her right hand, she carries an axe. From the axe head and shaft structure it looks like a woodcutting axe but super-sized. It is massive, being the size of a great axe. The size of the axe head is also quite large. The woman walks to the bar, in spite of having such a tall and muscular frame, her footsteps are oddly quiet. She talks to the bartender with a voice that is a bit deep and almost weary sounding but feminine still. She says without looking up, "It's been a while. I'll have the usual."
Vadania had a few busy weeks doing the labors she always does. Then she fell ill and did not leave home for 2 weeks. When she recovered she had another busy session of work. Because of all that, it has been a while since she has been to the bar. With working slowing down again, this is the first time in a good while she got some time come here
Jack nods and steels himself for a potentially messy confrontation, then puts on his most charming smile and pokes his head into the captains office.

When the ships first came over, many prospectors traveled to the mountains to search for precious metals and gems. However, they would never return. The twisted peaks are said to be taller than any other mountains in the world, and a malignant atmosphere dominates the place.
