"Kobolds aren't dumb. They know how to use teamwork and traps to bring folks like us down." Rak would reply as he slaps phin on the shoulder, granting him guidance as he investigates the discarded items. The gith would then ask bane for for help as he looked out for traps or anything of value.
Kilmus would continue sweeping the area, deliberately keeping his eyes on the path behind them - and redoubling his efforts after Rak reminded them all of how tricky Kobolds could be.
Walking backward, he'd trust to the Ranger to lead the way forward.
Wooden planks and struts form a walkway along the wall of a seemingly bottomless vertical shaft. A narrow waterfall cascades down the northeast wall, and the sound of rushing water is loud in the confined space.
Those of you using darkvision or a light source brighter than a candle can see more walkways attached to the northwest side of the shaft 30 feet farther down. Because of the loud waterfall, you must yell if you want to communicate with each other while in this area.
"I agree... we need to make sure we arn't going to get flanked by kobolds or have our only way out of that hole destroyed from above." Rak would add as he prepares to sweep the other rooms.
Phineas peers at the gaping hole tunneling down into the abyss of darkness, stunned by its immensity. The halfling mutters, "One mustn't look at the abyss because there be at its bottom be an inexpressible charm which attracts the foolhardy like moths to the flame. Delve deep, lads, for treasure, but what you bring home may not enrichen your lives." Realizing he muttered that out loud, the halfling shakes his head and chuckles. He turns to the others, "Yep. Definitely some big ass rodents up here somewhere." He leads the group back the way they came, and toward the other direction.
Kilmus holds his position until the party completes it's turnabout and he can take up post in the rear once more.
The human would rely on the light from Mica's skull totem to light his way forward, but wouldn't risk carrying a torch and limiting his ability to use his unwieldy blade.
Phineas: Before you all turn around, you can see, barely, through the planks that there are two kobolds unaware of your presence who are both underneath the planks, sitting upon the rafters that are holding them up, happily working to destroy them with tools that look like saws. In other words, they are trying to cut them beams supporting them.
Phineas holds his hand up to stay the others while placing his finger over his lips. He motions to where the kobolds are, whispering to the others, "We might need to draw them out."

When Phin points out the kobolds, Rak would prepare to cast sacred flame before casting spiritual weapon. he would wait until he was given the signal by his companion before unleashing the attacks.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(OOC: I'm not quite sure that Kilmus had a chance to comment on the plan of actions, so I'll summarize it below.)
Mica quietly takes out a pair of pitons and a hempen rope, stringing himself in a makeshift harness so that he can be lowered down the side of the ledge in order to have a clear shot at the Kobolds. While Rak prepares his spells, Mica will offer the rope for Kilmus and Phineas to hold, along with the pitons as a precautionary measure. He traces a sigil in the air and what seems to be a violet-colored thorned vine appears in his hands, and he prepares to whip a Kobold into the abyss.
Action - Ready - Thorn Whip: Attack: 7 Damage: 4 - on a hit, a Kobold is forced to do its best Wile E Coyote impression from the middle of the abyss.

DEX save: 17
The spiritual weapon misses.
The thorn whip hits! The kobold screams a terrible scream as it plummets down into the Underdark!! Such a horrible fate. The other one remaining clings to dear life.

Mica feels bad for killing the Kobold, and is considering offering the remaining one a chance to escape or lead a better life, but his uncontrolled arm jerks around and attempts to lash the next Kobold before he can act on his urges.
Kilmus wraps the rope around his waist once and ties a sturdy knot, hoping that it's enough to hold his sinewy friend up. The then finds a place to lay down on the ground, bracing his feet to take the weight as Mica makes the leap.
"Nice work" Rak would say as the kobold tumbles into the darkness. "Now let's finish clearing out this level of the cave." The gith would suggest with a Grin. When heading back through some if the previous areas, The gith would collect a number if broken lanterns and use mending to repair as many if them as possible.
Mica is happy to return from the edge, but the dizzying height only reinforced his wish to somehow gain the ability of flight. He rejoices in the life essence of the Kobold’s neck he snapped on the way down, eyes glowing a deep purple. He agrees with Rak about clearing the rest of the cavern, feeling reassured now that his hit points have been padded.
(I’m ready to backtrack to the rest of the caverns whenever.)

Kilmus shouts forward across the party from his position on the rearguard.
