Talking to the kobolds, "We don't have to fight. I don't want to fight as much as you do. It tends to be bad for your health. We heard that goblins stole from you. We are also looking for something that has gone missing. How about I set my bow down, one of you put down your spear, and we meet in the middle to talk? Just the two of us, that way, we block each other from being attacked."
Persuasion: 25
Gavin is pretty persuasive, but he doesn't know if he can get the kobolds to trust him. After all, he just killed one of their friends.
As sweet as that nat 20 is, you'll have to make that persuasion check at disadvantage since the party has been killing off their people. So roll again.
Grishkar Darkmoor, Necromancer of Nerull the Despiser Kelvin Rabbitfoot, Diviner, con artist, always hunting for a good sale Bründir Halfshield, Valor Bard, three-time Sheercleft Drinking Competition Champion, Hometown hero
The Kobolds look at each other and then back to the group. Suddenly there comes a sound from somewhere beyond them. They nod . "Drop weapons. You go see Yusdrayl, but no weapons!" One says. The other chimes in "We not attack. You pass safely"
Gavin whispers to his companions, "Meepo wanted to take us to Yusdrayl before he was frightened. We have several options now. We can accept the deal, walk away, split up, try to change the terms, or more. I don't think they will react well to changing the terms. I don't like going without weapons though. I am going to keep my daggers if I can. Stone, I think you would be the best out of us offensively if we cannot keep our weapons. We can probably walk away fine but then we don't find out anything. Taking the offer might get us killed, but I think it is our best bet. Who wants to take a risk?"
OOC: I want to hear everyone's opinions. I don't think it's fair if I lead us to death without everyone agreeing.
I Agree , counter back that we will come but armed, I do not trust this situation. They attacked us.
(Actually, to be fair, they only attacked in retaliation. Meepo was threatened. He called for help. The guards guarded him. They only attacked after you guys attacked.)
I'm changing my mind about bringing weapons. Given what they think of us, I'm not sure weapons would help except to bring more down with us. They have no reason to trust us. Forget I said I would bring daggers, I think it's better without them.
Stone removes a belt with his dagger and sword, then a smaller bandolier with a row of small metal spikes. He throws them to the guards and turns bacl to his allies, "If the attack, I will charge. You run for the door and re-arm."

Barnos Follows Stone and Gavin, Bow at the ready. "I think this is a job for any ranged attacks."
If anyone launches an attack at the Kobolds, they have taken the Dodge action.

OOC: Sounds fair. Not getting them budge at all seems reasonable even with a high roll.

OOC: How does that happen?
(I was going to say that you probably could've gotten more in the deal with a roll like that :) )
(EDIT: So....We'd like a team of kobold escorts/allies as we attack the goblins and a third of their dragon's hoard lol)

Barnos, they appear to be quite earnest from what you can tell.
( LOL)
I disarm and wait for the rest.
