If Balgrim is MIA, what should we do going forward? - Single Choice
Shall we seek a 6th party member? - Single Choice
Raia nods to Kallista, taking a moment to observe the Labors.
"I see what you mean." she says.
"I can sense the power coming off of you, you're more than a match for this entire cabal, but since we have no idea what's waiting for us inside, maybe it's best if we don't use up all of that power here. We'll it them together, then everyone else fires upon the living armor. If there's any left that survive the barrage, we'll overpower it and take it prisoner." she nods.
She points to the Labors starting to cross furthest from the Kite.
"I"ll take that group down. You've got the closer group. Everyone, get ready to open fire... we'll clean up here, then push forward... we've got to do this fast, before our enemy can prepare." she says, then looks to Lazlo.
"How about some words of inspiration before we begin, bard?"

At a loss for anything inspiring to say, Lazlo recalls a scrap of the lament the storied hero Egil composed upon the death of his son. Without thinking the words leap from his mouth, ringing out loud above the din of battle below. "Now my course is tough: Death, close sister of Fimbultyr's enemy stands on the ness: with resolution and without remorse I shall gladly await my own!" The satyr clears his throat, the moment passed. "Lets all do our very best, how 'bout that?"

Kallista nods at Raia and waits to see what Lazlo does, before taking off into the air to get close enough to do what she can to the laborers.

Hyre takes one of the arrows and nocks it into the crimson bow. He is ready to fire when given the signal. "Just remember, we can learn a lot from one of those. Don't release all of your power here." They could probably try to learn from scraps of metal too, maybe, but right now he wasn't sure whether Raia and Kallista are planning to even leave that for them.

(I always enjoy giving you a chance at prose Lazlo :3 )
Raia nods her approval to Lazlo, ruffling his hair.
"Fine words. Let us live by them!" she says, taking off from the kite as well and separating from Kallista.
Taking position, a brilliant light starts from her chest and travels up her neck until it illuminates her entire draconic head and comes out as a white hot stream of fire that pours down onto the Labors she targets. There is no chance for the labors struck to resist the fury of her dragon's breath, only those who were on the outskirts of the blast have a chance of making it out unscathed.
Labors destroyed: 9 About 5 Labors escaped total obliteration. Their condition is: 84 lightly damaged. (AC reduced to 8)
Kallista has a few options on which spells to use, but when you roll damage, make sure you give yourself advantage. The Labors can each withstand 25 damage, so if you roll higher than that, all the Labors within the area of effect will be destroyed outright.
Everyone else, choose targets and roll with advantage for your attacks. The living armor has a different AC than the Labors do, and you can choose specific areas to target if you want, you have the time and vantage point to 'call your shot'.

Hyre searches for an escape route the living armours might use if attacked. If they escape, that is actually worse than if they're all destroyed. Cutting such an escape route off should be their priority, and the best way he can think of in this situation is to pile a few dead armours in that place. If there's any such route that the living armours can escape through, Hyre targets the living armours closest to it.
So... I'll treat it as a normal short bow, I guess? Attack: 23 Damage: 8.

Aelar notes the direction Hyre's aiming, chooses a target near to his, pulls fletchings to cheek, and looses the white arrow from the white bow.
Attack: 17 Damage: 11

Lazlo, blushing after the attention from Raia- draws back the solid wood (longbow?) bow and lets loose an arrow. He will target the living armor that Aelar hit but aim for his legs- hoping to immobilize the enemy for Hyre to study later.
Attack: 22 Damage: 4
(ooh! Nat 20! crap damage though))

ooc: Sr Deebs, did you use the combat section of the dice roller or did you roll each separately?

((I used the ‘basic’ dice roller to roll the attack with advantage then rolled once for damage))

The remainder of the Labors that Raia failed to completely destroy are felled in a single volley from the group.
Atetra can feel a significant kick from his bow as the gears lock in place and take a lot of the strain off his arms, but once the string is released, the whole thing bucks. The arrow type that he chose apparently were no ordinary arrows. Instead of the 'knock and thud', the arrow makes a high pitched whistling sound and when it strikes its target, the head pops in a small explosion, causing secondary damage: 4
Hyre's arrow easily penetrates through his target, knocking it into pieces as if the metal plates weren't even there.
Aelar's shot also has an unexpected effect; the white arrow actually shatters once it makes contact and the shards of the shaft embed themselves all over the plates of the Labor with surprising force.
Finally, Lazlo discovers the effects of the bow he has; his arrow, once it strikes home, actually springs some kind of trap; a vine grows rapidly from the shaft and entangles the Labor in seconds.
These are certainly not your normal ranger's arrows, but Grimbuld was too injured to explain the effects of his collection in detail. No wonder he said they weren't gifts.

Kallista gets as close as she feels comfortable while still being able to do what needs to be done. After a moment of watching the pattern one last time, she focuses on the spot where the Laborer's will cross. A small bead of light coalesces there, and after a moment, when the Laborers are all at their closest to it, it explodes in a fiery explosion.

((Welp, unfortunately, life went a little too ham on Atetra, so he's also going to be botted and/or displaced for a while. I still haven't heard back from Leon but I haven't given up hope yet, so for now, we're a party of 4. I'll be adjusting things accordingly))
Kallista's eyes take on an otherworldly glow as she summons forth a surge of power. All 3 sets of eyes burn with a white hot intensity before her arm is blown upwards by the sheer power of the blast she emits from her fingertips. It hits the ground like a mortar shell, sending debris shooting out in all directions as she obliterates the entire cabal of Labors she targets. None escape.
The living armor stop trying to re-orientate themselves for a siege attack and begin reshaping themselves back into their previous form to try and fight back, and that's when the Watchmen take positions and open fire.
Watchmen's volley: 12
Number of living armor taken down: 2
Only 11 remain, and they can't yet fight back. The group has time to figure out what they want to do to subdue the remaining 11 living armors.

Aelar looks at the devastation his friends and the guards have wrought. "Hyre, I know we want to try to capture some of these but we don't need 11. Let's aim for 3, at most?"
ooc: can we still try to do called shots?

((The whole thing is tied up and bound in vines, totally immobile. It's been removed as a threat. And yes, you may still make called shots as you have at least a few seconds before the living armor reconfigures itself into an offensive form capable of attacking the Kite.))

Aelar takes a deep breath, nocks another of the white arrows, aims carefully at the legs of one the skell-things, and let's fly.

"Three of them sounds perfect to me. Lazlo, could you do what you did with the vines again? This seems exactly like what we need. Nobody shoot the ones Lazlo binds." Hyre then pulls another arrow out of the quiver and nocks it into the bow. He tries to aim at one of the living armours that isn't bound by Lazlo's vines.
Attack: 17 Damage: 6.

Lazlo will attempt to subdue another Living Armor with the vine arrows. Attack: 20 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
