"No need to kill yet... I am certain that this mister will pay his taxes now... If you kill him, who will run the tannery. Not good for the economy of the area" adds Bodurk
"Economy? I guess that's important. Should we get out of here, or will we wait for the guards?"
Thana will grab the lockbox, and anything else in the drawer, and wrap everything up in the tapestries, and check once more that the men and dog are still distracted. She'll tell Gaap to keep their attention away from the gap in the fence so the group can sneak out that way again.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gaap continues to keep the two men and dog distracted, running through the vats of chemicals. Everybody, roll a Stealth check opposed by their Perception checks, which will have disadvantage:
The five of you manage to sneak out the way you came in, undetected. Once you're outside the tannery, Cimri leads you back to the Ash House in Longacre proper. What remains of this manor looks like it could collapse at any moment. Bearing the scars of a decades-old fire, the house is blackened and sags under the weight of its collapsed third floor. Shattered windows pose no barrier to the riot of ivy scaling each gable and invading every cavity. Bent pillars and a cracked granite porch lead to a warped door bearing a rusty doorknocker shaped like a boar’s head. "We'll meet with Razelago upstairs, come on," Cimri says, leading you up the stairs immediately in front of the house's entrance.
She leads you into a small office. Toppled bookshelves, a table, and some chairs half-covered in ivy suggest this room was once a library. The ashes and pulp of burned, waterlogged books lay heaped amid fallen furniture, creating a large nest of sorts against one wall. A set of folding paper screens divides the room. A lantern flickers on the opposite side, projecting the silhouette of a desk and high-backed chair upon the thin paper. Sitting in said chair is the shadow of a thin, bald-headed man, who leans forward as you enter. You also notice a panther-like creature resting in a pile of book pulp.
"Cimri," you hear a soft, raspy voice from the other side of the paper. "You have returned. I assume all has gone according to plan?"
Cimri nods excitedly, and turns to Thana, who holds the lockbox. "Yes, Razelago. They performed exceptionally well."
The man-shape nods. “Excellent. You’ve done well, Cimri, and your associates sound like individuals of rare potential. You’ll all find your payment waiting in the parlor below, along with a gift for each of you. Go, enjoy, celebrate. You deserve a reward for your impressive work. We’ll talk more in the near future. Leave the lockbox on the floor over there, and I shall make sure the gold therein makes it to the proper authorities."
"Let's not forget our reward~" Cimri coos. You make your way downstairs to the parlor. Pieces of battered furniture lie here amid the choking scent of dust and ashes. Beneath a mantle crowded with empty whiskey bottles, the fireplace shows evidence of recent use. The scorched, broken visages of curious cherubs leer from atop archways leading deeper into the house. A lockbox sits on the mantle, and Cimri heads right towards it. She opens it up and reveals the prize; a purse of 50 gold coins for each of you, and a heftier purse for herself. There are also four daggers in the lockbox; each one is of masterwork quality, adding +1 to attack rolls (but not damage rolls). The daggers are worth 100 gp each, and there is one for each of you.
Bodruk looks at the tiny weapon disappearing in his fist. "This is nice but not my type of weapon. but I might be able to resell it to get something bigger. A little detour at the merchant tomorrow is needed I think !""

"Cimri, should we kill him?" Thana asks. "Or will that make things messier?"

Cimri shakes her head. "I think we'd best get out of here while we're ahead. Use those keys on the desk, take the lockbox, and we should go."
