Generally, Arcana relates to magic and spells, so there is some justification, but for plants and ingredients specifically, you would also be well served by Nature.
In cases where there is overlap, a DM may set different DC thresholds for a piece of information depending on how appropriate it is. For example, if you want to identify the properties of a rare plant, the Knowledge(Arcana) DC might be 20, whereas the Knowledge(Nature) DC might be 16.
Depends on the DM, I myself would let the player choose between arcana, nature, or survival, and maybe even something else if they had a good reason. Arcana sounds like a great option, though!

Anything is edible if you try hard enough!
I am a swimmer. If you see me running, you should run too, because it means something horrible is chasing me.
If the intent is to make potions with them - then surely the player has Herbalism Kit proficiency? So an Intelligence (Herbalism Kit) ability check would work just as fine for me.
Yeah because I am trying to make a Pacifist Aaba Healer and the Aaba is a homebrew race that I will put the link to here so, I wasn't sure what skill I would use to get materials for healing items or potions, etc
If you haven't already discussed it with your DM, be careful with pacifist characters. A lot of the game revolves around combat, which can lead to party problems, if your character attempts to influence the behavior of the others.
Thanks for the advice I am not planning to have my character try and convert others. I am planning to have them have like some form of emotional scarring or fear of harming others so they are mainly gonna be support.
Consider having a combat contingency plan. If the party gets near a TPK and your character is the last one left alive, they'll either need to overcome their trauma, or flee, leaving the rest of the party to be devoured.
The Summon line of spells might work well for that, since you could trigger it and just command it with "Help me!", and it will follow through with combat on its own.
Hi, this might be a dumb question but can Arcana be used to identify magical plants and ingredients that you can use to make potions/items
That is a question for your DM.

That's a good idea I'll work that in
