So, here’s the idea: My character (presumably a level 2 Ranger with the optional class feature Favored Foe) casts Zephyr Strike. At a later turn within the duration, he uses the advantage that Zephyr Strike can give, and hits with his attack, so he uses Favored Foe on the hit enemy. Here’s where my question comes in: Since Favored Foe requires concentration and so does Zephyr Strike, does the Zephyr Strike damage still come into play?

Yes. Zephyr Strike buffs the whole attack, and Favored Foe happens on hit. When you bring up FF ZS expires, but it's too late, the attack was buffed while the spell was up.
You could try to leverage both in the same round by simply dropping your Concentration, assuming you are at least at level 5 to be able to attack twice. Lets see:
1. Bonus action: cast Zephyr Strike and move without fearing OAs 2. Attack action, first attack: Attack at advantage, causing 1d8 bonus damage 3. Drop your Concentration on Zephyr Strike 4. Second attack enabling Favored Foe bonus damage

I think it sounds feasible, no?
That is a pretty good reason to keep Zephyr Strike at tier 2. Thanks!
Me either...but I've also seen where some might not give the protection from AOs....meaning they feel like you have to concentrate the entire round to avoid AOs.

Agreed.

I'm going to make this way harder than it needs to be.
You would lose the extra 30' walking speed, but you get the attack and the extra damage from Zephyr Strike
A bit munchkin-y and your mileage may vary based on DM. I might allow for Zephyr strike, but probably not steel wind strike.

Sorry to necro this thread but I am having the same question in my mind.
And I do not see where you would need multiple attacks.
Use Zephyr to move away without getting AOs and gaining advantage on one hit. If it hits drop concentration and add favored foe.
If it crits you double all the damage die.
Any reason this does not work?
I see no reason it wouldn't work.

Do you mean you wouldn’t allow favored foe to work with steel wind strike?
