Basically, my PCs are doing a crypt-crawl soon and I have an idea for a lair that's hidden behind a fake wall. The wall itself is just an illusion; people can walk right through it. What sort of check or roll would a PC need to do to detect it, besides detect magic?
As of right now, the best I have is for the PCs to do a Survival roll and notice that footprints and such seem to continue under this wall. That might be enough, but I want to cover all bases.
Either perception or investigation should work. Dust build up, wind, sounds, etc...
If the players are just peeking around corners, an illusory wall might look like a dead end that they could ignore, but if they actually get close enough, there should be plenty of clues. The exception being if the illusory wall is created by high level magic like Mirage Arcana. In which case, they could roll an Arcana check.
Pretty much anything the players could reasonably roll should work, though the DC for success might change depending on the circumstance.
Most Illusion magic spells, like Silent Image, let you use an Investigation check to determine if they are real. Putting your hand through the illusion also reveals that it's fake.
If someone happens to have a passive Investigation that matches or beats the illusion's DC, they would notice that something seems off.

Survival would work, so could perception if there is any details that might give it away. Also detect magic would work.
