So, someone at the table I play at has a barbarian/echo knight. We were debating last night about how it works with rage. A barbarian drops rage if it isn't attacked or if it doesn't attack in a round. What if the echo knight attacks or is attacked? Does the barbarian still hold it's rage, or would it drop since it wasn't a direct attack to/from the barbarian?
I've looks all around, and I can't find an answer anywhere. If it has been answered on here before, sorry to re-ask.
When you take the Attack action on your turn, any attack you make with that action can originate from your space or the echo’s space. You make this choice for each attack.
The wording makes it pretty clear that the echo is not making the attack, but rather you are making the attack from the echo's space. Since you're the one making the attack, it would keep up rage.

Attacking from the Echo's location is still the Barbarian's attack, so it keeps Rage up.
The Echo only has one hit point, so you don't typically want it getting attacked. You can avoid a lot of attacks by moving it up 10 feet if it has the movement, taking it out of range of most melee attacks, and not provoking any attacks of opportunity because it's not a creature.
Attacking from the Echo's location is still the Barbarian's attack, so it keeps Rage up.

A barbarian's rage doesn't end because the barb hasn't been attacked, a barb's rage can end if "your turn ends and you haven’t attacked a hostile creature since your last turn or taken damage since then." Even if someone did attack the echo knight, you don't take its damage, so the echo knight being attacked wouldn't effect whether or not your rage ends early.
