One of my players has proficiency with darts and wants to dip them in poison to use as a weapon. This sounds completely reasonable to me, as long as he has poison to dip the tips in, which I'm sure we can work out. How should we calculate additional poison damage to the darts?
Whichever kind of poison you use should give those stats. You can find some in the DMG. Heads up, none of them are particularly impressive in terms of damage or save DC; poisons aren't scaled to be a particularly accessible or effective player tool.

Thank you. I'll look into it and make sure my player knows that poison may just be a fun addition, even if it isn't super effective.
The Player's Handbook also has Basic Poison as well.
