Sorry if this has been asked before I cannot find a thread on it

Just reading through Tasha's and want to play an Armorer, i want some clarification on the special weapon can we add our proficiency modifier to the attack roll? I know we use Int as the stat but i cannot find anything regarding proficiency?

Artificers are proficient with Simple weapons, the description of the two armour types specifies that these special weapons are simple weapons so, yes, you do add your proficiency modifier.

Guardian:

Thunder Gauntlets. Each of the armor’s gauntlets counts as a simple melee weapon while you aren’t holding anything in it,

Infiltrator:

Lightning Launcher. A gemlike node appears on one of your armored fists or on the chest (your choice). It counts as a simple ranged weapon,
