So a buddy of mine currently runs a game that has put all the Wizard of the Coasts official settings in one world, and currently we're on Eberron. Now me being the extra piece of shit I am, went ham on researching Eberron (aka using what info was available on the Eberron wiki) and I have fallen in love with the setting, to the point where I want to run my own campaign in Eberron with the classic lore, where Eberron's in it's own pocket dimension. So far what I've got for the main overall themes/story points of the campaign is that the Warforged followers of the Becoming God in Mournlands have successful created their own deity now crowned the Forged One, who is leading them to create their own small nation/society and wishes to declare themselves a small independent nation that be recognized by the Five Nations. These events have led to summit amongst the Five Nations and other powerful organization be held in Sharn to discuss/negotiate with a representative of these Warforged. There's also some strange events happening in the Eldeen Reach, like dragons suddenly appearing and bestowing gifts unto certain individuals, which has some of the Druid sects afraid something big is on the horizon, and so some of them intend to attend the summit.
I'm currently gathering up a list of players interested, and basically the pitch for their characters is that they can be an agent/representative of a faction that has some stake in the developments from the Mournlands, or they're adventurers who are very curious wishing to witness the talks. My only fear is not having enough info about Eberron to properly run it, I'm planning on purchasing Exploring Eberron by Keith Baker soon, and using Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron as the main reference books. But I am wondering if there any veterans that have any knowledge or suggestions for me, because I was planning to have a some mysteries for the party to solve, along with the standard adventure/combat experience.
The best sources of Eberron lore that I know of are the collection of 3.5 Eberron books.
Sharn: The City of Towers (gives more information on the city of Sharn)
Races of Eberron (gives a lot of info and lore on the unique races of Eberron)
Five Nations (details the people and landmarks of the Five Nations that make up the former Kingdom of Galifar: Aundair, Breland, Karrnath, Thrane, and the Mournland (the former nation of Cyre))
Explorer’s Handbook (gives more general detail on the different contingents of Eberron)
Magic of Eberron (details the various magics of the world)
Secrets of Xen’drik (gives details on the strange and mysterious continent of Xen’drik)
Faiths of Eberron (details the various deities and religious factions in Eberron)
Dragonmarked (details the 13 dragonmark houses and the nature of dragonmarks)
Secrets of Sarlona (details the continent and the strange goings on there)
The Forge of War (goes into more detail about the Last War)
City of Stormreach (detailing the city of Stormreach on the continent of Xen’drik)
Dragons of Eberron (detailing the continent of dragons and how dragons have influenced the world of Eberron, as well as the Draconic prophecy)

"Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup."
Eberron: Rising From The Last War, is a compressed who's-who of the setting with also a good deal of stuff about sharn, the Artificer, All the races plus a whole lot more and it is what I would recommend, don't know much about the 3.5e books but they're probably good.
