I've recently found myself driving a lot, with a lot of time for audio books.
I really want some D&D lore / world stories to listen to, recently I sourced a copy of Homeland (First book in the Drizzt series) and started listening but oh my god.
I listened for just over 30 minutes, and was ready to bang my head against a wall - the person telling the story has a very monotone dreary way of speaking in my opinion , if you;d like to see what I mean a quick search on youtube will bring you up to speed!
So my question is this, does anyone know of any nicely voice acted versions of the Drizzt series, or other books set in the forgotten realms? Ones that won't put me to sleep :)
I know it's been a while since you posted this, however I found a Podcast by Russell Johnson that so far covers the first two Drizzt trilogies. He voices all of the characters and does a great job of it in my opinion. You can find it on Spotify here:
This is a fun audiobook series based on a real Dungeons & Dragons campaign, with colorful narration and rich storytelling. This book follows Alton—a halfling rogue with a sharp wit and a taste for gold, as he quests through the Forgotten Realms with his ragtag group of adventurers. It feels a lot like the Drizzt series, or maybe the Dragonlance novels. Definitely worth a listen.
I would love to get an audio book that is just a very typical dungeons and dragons-esk campaign on audio book form of an author. Mostly because I would to get the imagery and some ideas for my own campaigns but also something that is very illustrative with their words.
I REALLY enjoyed the Darth Bane trilogies maybe something along those lines of anyone has any good suggestions. https://xender.vip/
