I know this is an old thread, but if anyone is still checking in, I have some questions.
We're setting up a stream and have 2 remote players and 3 in house players. Our DM is using OBS for the streaming software, and the remote players are using VDO.Ninja for the video and we're using Discord for the audio. The remote players are able to watch the OBS overlay stream as they play through the DM live streaming and sharing the OBS screen on Discord.
I feel like Discord is an unnecessary middleman in this setup and we should only be using VDO.Ninja for audio and video running straight into OBS. But then, how will the remote players be able to view the DM's live stream to watch as they play?
Does/has anyone had a similar setup or scenario that they were able to work out successfully? The remote players are also experiencing a lot of audio issues when playing that aren't there on the recording of the stream, and the local players don't ever hear any audio issues the remote players do. Any ideas?
Get discord out of there. Have your dm use screen share in vdo - if you use a vtt - or add another camera for the maps and things to the vdo call.
in obs you need to add each camera as a separate browser source. Grab the link from the director dashboard in vdo.
for each browser source I have obs control it, but I straight away mute it since it all comes through my headphones which I use as a desktop audio source. This is usually the thing which causes echo.
