I'm going with no on resistance, its too damn good. If it was limited to damage from spells, or from damaging effects maybe. But we don't need this much concentration save protection. It becomes a must have cantrip just to keep our spells up.
I like it but it now leaves you with choices to make on what to pick. You can't have them all as there are other cantrips you will want to take. Are you going to forsake good utility spells and attack spells just to have both guidance and resistance?
Also resistance is just a d4 so it is not like it will save you in every situation. Normally you would use guidance on someone you know who has a good changes on passing. That is not the case with resistance as you don't always know what save the player is going to take until it happens and if they are good at it. If they are good then they will most likely may not need it but if they are bad at the save they need to make it will help them a bit. Also since it is a reaction you won't be able to use it on saves that target multiple targets. It is good now but not great as you make it out to be.
I like the change to resistance and with the new changes to Guidance it made it more usable. Think true strike and blade ward would get some love as well? I hope they get changed to bonus action.
Blade ward as a bonus action would completely break the game. It's literally barbarian's primary feature as a cantrip. True strike as a bonus action would be way too powerful as well. If this change were made every single martial and most casters would pick up magic initiate for these two cantrips.

Bonus action True Strike would likely be analogous to Guidance and Resistance: +1d4 to a missed attack roll. It's still not amazing, but it would be used in situations where a specific attack was very important. (And wouldn't be bad even if you just used it on the first attack that missed per round.)
Blade ward doesn't fully fit the same model (the obvious version steals too much of Shield's thunder), but I don't think that "spend your reaction to take half damage against a normal-damage-type attack" is that out of line, and definitely wouldn't be mandatory. Still probably too good for a cantrip, though.

But there is still the fact that those spells still suck and need help. I would not mind seeing suggestions on how to make those spells better.

Well unless they change the concentration save mechanic(I hope they do) normally the TN is 10 and generally you have a okay con so outside rolls of like 1 a fail will generally be pretty close. People take feats, and multi class just to improve their concentration save, adding a d4 just from a cantrip seems a bit too good imo. Just narrow the scope a bit and I think it would be fine. I'm pretty sure every optimizer spell caster will consider this a must take cantrip when its available to them. When optimizers put something in their must take list I generally say some tweaking might be in order. The only thing that kind of saves it imo is its not on the arcane list who are probably the classes concentration causes the most issues on, though not by much.

They do suck but bonus actions would be too good. Blade Ward make the duration 2 rounds. True strike keep the range at 30 feet but make the target be you or an ally who then gains advantage on attack rolls made until the end of your next turn. Basically make it a improved help action only for attack rolls and it could be used on yourself in situations where you are about to kick in a door.

Just spitballing ideas, but what if Blade Ward only protected on the next attack? Or to make it even more costly, you use a bonus action to give yourself the opportunity to use your reaction within the next round to give you resistance to a triggering attack? I could imagine True Strike working like this as well, cast it with your bonus action and then use your reaction to activate it if needed.

That still feels like you're using your bonus action to yoink the biggest feature of a 5th level rogue. That shouldn't be something you can do, especially with how free some classes are with their bonus actions.
