So as the title says I’ve been coming up with a build for a Leonin battlemaster. Would love to run him with heavy/medium armour a shield and a spear. Although I just figured out one handing a spear only gives it a 5 foot reach if I’m not mistaken. Looking at taking feats like sentinel and PAM. Another thing I’m as looking at was a multi class to run. If it’s even a good idea to run. Assuming I’d be going all the way to level 20 with the guy what do you guys think makes a good multi class for a character that I plan to play all up in the face of enemies. Just a very aggressive play style. Thanks I’m advance.
What do you hope to achieve with the multiclass? Because something like a PAM/sentinel is always going to be solid. Take cavalier fighter up through 18, and you will completely control your portion of the battlefield.
And keep in mind with your extra feats, you can snag some bits of other classes without actually multi-classing.
Lose the spear and upgrade to a glaive/halberd/pike. Lose the shield and take the defense fighting style. Now you get the reach and full benefit of PAM and you're only down by 1 AC.
It all depends on your goals. If you're looking to be the tank a Barbarian dip would do alot. If you want to focus more on battlefield control I'd suggest dropping the shield and spear for a two handed pole arm. You lose some protection, but with heavy armor and the extra reach you'll more than make up for it.
