Hey everyone, I've been planning to start a West Marches style campaign for a while and would love to use dndbeyond to manage all the character sheets as it makes it very easy.
I have a few queries and am trying to find the best to handle certain things.
With WM having a lot of players, I would like to have a good way to stop players from adding items, or gold out of the sessions or only have the DMs do this. Apart from just trusting every player to not abuse or cheat the system are there other methods?
Is there a limit to PCs in a campaign?
Can the DM or campaign owner restrict certain items from character creation?

1) You can have the players unassign their character sheet after each game so you can claim it, then do the reverse at the start of the next game. I wouldn't really advise it though, it's a bit of a hassle and means the players can't see their charsheet between games unless a copy is made. This potential issue is pretty much the same if you use paper charsheets too, and in the end players who want to can cheat (or at least try to) in many ways regardless. I'd try to foster a trusting relationship with the group over rubbing everyone's faces in the fact that you think they can't be trusted.
2) Content sharing is limited to 12 accounts per campaign; character sheets per campaign has, if it has a limit at all, a higher one. Not sure about players (as in, different accounts), but if there is a limit that can be circumvented by unassigning and reclaiming as needed since I doubt you'll be playing with more than 12 at a time.
3) Content access restriction is on a per book basis, you can't restrict individual pieces of content. If you just want to disallow certain items, put it in a rule and tell the players. If you want them unable to look up an item you want to use, you'll have to create a homebrew copy and use that instead.
Thanks for the reply, fostering trust is one of my main goals but with allowing a lot of oneshots and more than one DM it's gets a bit tricky. I will try the unassigned PC thing is we can start noticing weird things in the charcater sheets.

Want to start playing but don't have anyone to play with? You can try these options: [link].
