I am normally a DM and now am playing a one shot and I do not have much experience making my own character so I'm asking for advice. It is a level three one shot where the DM said that we can replace one starting weapon with a firearm from a list(not exactly the same as the DMG but similar). I am not looking to create some over powered min maxed build, I'm just looking for ideas to get started making a fun character, and would appreciate any help
Well, Artificers are automatically proficient in firearms in any campaign that has them. You can put the Repeating Shot infusion on your gun to make it a magic weapon and ignore the ammunition and loading properties. And Battle Smiths can use their intelligence modifier instead of their strength or dexterity modifiers for attack and damage rolls with magic weapons (and have a really cool pet).

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
