Currently I am putting together a social encounter and just using the big space to right up a rough branching path of what could happen (the players can always surprise though). I want to use this to navigate through an encounter (Their NPC buddy getting hitched to his childhood sweetheart... or not) so I can have some clear characters consequences etc in mind for the players to work with.
I suspect there would be some use for a social encounter but since it is vaguer than combat rules it may not be everyone.
Maybe they could start with just a straight skill challenge tool and go from there?
Hey folks, just had a thought I wanted to share:
I really like the beta encounter builder and thought there may be room for another kind of encounter in that builder or something else:
The social encounter.
Lots of decent articles you can google on it, I was reading this one:
https://makeaskillcheck.com/building-great-social-encounters/
But would other people find this useful?

Curious what others think.

I'd like to see your idea on how this could be implemented. But otherwise, im rather indifferent. I don't see how this could enhance gameplay at all.
I'd like the ability to add NPCs, potentially with player class and levels, to my encounters.
Once you have that, you could of course build an encounter with nothing but PCs and NPCs and no stat blocks.
Then all you might need is a notes sections. A place to remind yourself battle tactics for that monster, or DCs for checks you might have to call.
