DDB will implement optional DMG rules such as spell points anywhewre between two to five years after DDB goes out of business, shutters its servers, and ceases operations.
There is a roughly zero percent chance that DDB will ever implement "niche" optional DMG rules such as spell points, slow natural healing, proficiency dice, or indeed anything else that isn't Epic Boons, Dark Gifts, or the like. Primarily because for every one customer that asks for spell points, slow natural healing, proficiency dice, or anything of the like, there are three hundred shrieking rabid wombats castigating DDB for not implementing Literally Just Different Feats the various forms of character-boosting boons instead. Optional rules it's very difficult if not impossible to use on DDB? Never. Feats by a different name? Priority Alpha Zero, Code Black.
Per the second of the two links in my signature, I may be super god damned upset about this fact.

So you're saying in WOTC Projekt CD D&D 2024 RED spell points should be a feat?

They're also apparently never going to allow Divine Soul Sorcerers to swap their Divine Magic spell for another Cleric spell which is not even an optional rule but written directly into the feature.

So I get that you're talking about a known feature that does this instead but at least their is an easy work around for this, can't you just go in an manage your spells like normal to swap them out at the appropriate level up.

Has there been any word on spell point implementation?
One of those "When they stop making more 5e books" Things, maybe if were luck we'll get it before then.
My homebrew content: Monsters, subclasses, Magic items, Feats, spells, races, backgrounds
What do you mean?
The Spell Points variant is in an official book - the Dungeon Master's Guide.
What more do you need/want to be able to implement that into your game?
All things Lich - DM tips, tricks, and other creative shenanigans
I believe they meant if there has been any word on spell point implementation on DDB.

Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.
They will probably get added at some point around the heat death of the universe. Along with Tasha's sidekicks.
Given this is the DDB forum, I thinks it's very obvious what the OP means, if you read the post. 😊
