Hey ladies and gentlemen of dnd! another question for you all if you don't mind. I am making a phantom rouge (9)/ shadow sorcerer (11) and i feel super confidant about it and it seems really fun to use but I've been yet to try it. when looking at the sheet though I noticed i will only have one action. I was curious if there is any way i can gain another action or if wails from the grave just that another opportunity to attack again? im a little newer in the scene of playing and kinda there too with dnd in a whole so i apologize in advance.
The only way to get a second Action in a turn (without magic items etc) that's coming to mind is via Action Surge, which is Fighter Class Feature. You'd have to take two levels of Fighter to get it. Even then, it's only once per rest. If you take Fighter to level 17, you can do it twice between rests.
If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
+1 for not bothering with a level 20 character, I have been playing for 3 years and the highest I've played is 10 (and DMed for is 11). I've watched my players, all of similar experience to me, progress from level 8 to level 11 in the campaign, and they are still prone to forget certain abilities they have. Level 20 should be earnt; not because you're not worth it, but because you probably can't handle it!
+1 on not worrying about Level 20 characters. Then on the actions - you get a move, an action possibly a bonus action (the things that give it tell you they do) and a possible reaction if foes move into or out of your reach (5’ typically). Thirdly - it’s rogue for the thief, rouge is what girls (and others) put on their cheeks (or it’s a very fine red waxy abrasive for polishing silver, gold and/or platinum items on a buffing wheel).
1) Wails from the Grave doesn't cost you an action, so if that's the reason you want a second one there's no need. All you need to do is deal sneak attack damage to a target, then you can choose to damage a secondary target within 30ft, you don't have to attack again to trigger it.
2) If you do truly want another action, the haste spell gives you one - you can cast this yourself with your Sorcerer levels or have another caster in the party cast it on you. All you can do with that action offensively is the Attack action to make a single attack, however for rogues that's usually still very useful - you can Ready an attack with your normal action to take place during someone else's turn, and then make that single attack with your second action, and assuming you meet the conditions you'll get Sneak Attack damage on both while also still having your bonus action available (e.g. for yet another attack if you're two-weapon fighting, or for Cunning Action, or a Quickened Spell etc.)
Closest thing you can manage is to use Sorcery Points for Quickened Spell, which changes the casting time of a spell to one bonus action instead of one action, then you could use your action to cast a cantrip or try and get in a sneak attack.

The first thing to say is that you should try building a level 1 character rather than a level 20 character. Very few games will even reach level 20.
If you cast a spell on a turn, then you will be limited to that as your singular Action for the turn.
When making weapon attacks as your rogue, your main benefit is the sneak attack damage, which makes up for only having one attack per turn.
