So I'm homebrewing a monster and I want to make sure my wording is consistent with published monsters so that my players can easily understand them and they feel polished. I seem to remember a feature of certain monsters being able to downgrade immunity to resistance and ignore resistance, but I can't put my finger on the proper wording or a monster with that feature. Do any of you know?
Magical Weapons. The monster's attacks count as magical for the purposes of overcoming resistances and immunities to nonmagical damage.
I don't think so. I believe they're talking about some monsters that if a PC has immunity to its attacks, instead the player merely has resistance and the PC had resistance, it's now ignored. So if Bob the Barbarian is immune to fire damage and you roll 10 fire damage, he is resistant instead and takes 5 fire damage.
Unfortunately, I can't remember any examples. Heart's examples are premium content so I can't verify just yet. Il check my books later.
If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
Found the two items. They're similar to what is wanted but also different; they both suppress both immunity and resistance - the difference being that immunity is removed entirely, rather than downgraded to resistance. Still, good find.

Is this what you mean?
Interesting question. Maegera the Dawn Titan has some language ot this effect in its "quench magic" legendary action. I'll do another search.
Edit: Krull and the sword of answering also have some language for reference.
