Still new to DnD 5e. I have a question for the "min-maxers" and people who (for some reason) play this TTRPG game with a "competitive" mindset.
How much damage is a lot of damage for a level 5 character to output in a single turn? How much for a level 17 character?
I've seen some discussions on here and Reddit (gross I know) talking about how some classes/subclasses are "bad" or "not competitive" despite their ability to do potentially hundreds of damage in a single turn multiple times before needing a long rest. I'm just trying to understand these people. Other than wizards, barbarians, and sorcerers I've seen pretty much every single other class get criticized by these people and i can't understand it.
