There are times when I know I want to take a certain path with a character but have to start at level 1. Often times I'll make the character, level it up to 3 or 5, take notes, and then send it back to level 1. Obviously things can change and influence this, but if there was a way to save the progression and replay it (add spells, feats, class decisions, etc.) when leveling up that would be fantastic.

I do that by duplicating my character and adding “- 2nd level”, “3rd level”, etc. after the name of the copies. It works.
