I wasn't sure if this belonged in the Homebrew section or not so I posted it here. I'm trying to create various alternate versions of firearms in my homebrew world. And besides the issue of not being able to override the original properties of the weapon, I'm having trouble understanding a few things.
Trying to add more damage to a ranged weapon I tried the replace damage type modifier and the Ranged Attack modifier and I can't get either to show up on the actual weapon when on my character. So I can't understand what those two options are for.
Changing base weapons is currently not supported. You can change damage type (supposedly), but not damage amount (you can add bonus damage, but it will be displayed separate from base damage). You currently can't modify ranges at all.
It is planned to add base weapon homebrew tools in the future.
I know, which sucks but hopefully it'll change. But I was just asking what those two options were for in the list of Modifiers when making a magic weapon because they don't show up at all, so why are they there?
It's the same tools the devs use. Some modifiers are devs only and got left visible by mistake. Or maybe the modifier had its functionality removed. Or it could just be that you aren't using them the right way to produce a change (some modifiers are temperamental).
I only dabble in homebrew, I'm not an expert (few are for the reasons mentioned above).
