I have a question regarding falling and what one can do if teleported 30' feet into the air. Can you make an attack when you are falling with a ring of Feather Fall active from your reaction.
The reason for the question is a Hexblade can use Relentless Hex on a cursed target and teleport within 5' feet of the target. So viewing a battle as a 3-dimensional field can you teleport next to the target and 5' feet up in the air in order to cast Eldritch Blast with Grasp of Hadar and pull the target 10' feet into the air? Thus causing them to fall 10' feet and take 1d6 falling damage. The added 1d6 + 1d10 from the Eldritch Blast + 1d6 from a Hex spell plus and additional Eldritch beams that him would be nice. On top of the that the target would be prone when they fall (assuming of course they were a medium sized humanoid).
I doubt a DM will allow those shenanigans. The default rule for falling is that it is instantaneous (to keep things simple). Then there is the argument of whether you will be able to pull a target past you (as opposed to to you).
Agreed. I wouldn't allow this at my table. I might let the player teleport on top of them because that's creative. I would not give them the grasp of Hadar but to pull them past where you are. I would let them Misty step up into a tree or up a cliff and grasp of Hadar them them upwards 10 feet where they would immediately fall. That'd cause them to take 1d6 fall damage and land prone. That's a creative use if mechanics that I'd reward although I wouldn't give them that opportunity all the time. Like everything, abusing a mechanic like that gets old eventually.

Thanx All...

Yea, I wasn't sure it would work is all. I was just wanting some clarification.
Thanx
