If you had a variant human artificer at level 1 and you were to take the crossbow feat crossbow expert and had a hand crossbow and then infused it with your infusions for the range weapon infusion for both the basically gives you the auto load feature would that mean that you could take a shield in your other hand and get your attacks of your main attack and then your bonus action attack, with the same crossbow same hand crossbow anyway, because wouldn't that make the hand crossbow a semi-automatic crossbow? And then at level 5 when you get your 2nd attack that infact would make 4 attacks 2 main attacks and 2 bonus action attacks am i reading that right? And then with Elven accuracy feat at level 4 would make your player character something truly deadly. If i am right?

nearly, extra attack only lets you take two attacks with your action so you would be making 3 attacks. 2 from your action 1 from you bonus action. this is a very viable build with battle smith still.

Its not a battlesmith its a edrich cannon Artaficer
There are a few obstacles with the Artillerist Artificer:
you only got 1 Bonus Action per round. So you can either use your eldritch canon or the hand crossbow for your Bonus Action
you only get to attack once with your Action no matter your lvl. If you want an extra attack for your Action, you would need to multiclass
your lvl 5 bonus Arcane Firearm only improves spells, not your ranged physical attacks so you would waste it.
i assume that Artificers do not have proficiency with handcrossbows, the battle smith does get martial proficiency at lvl 3 and therefor handcrossbow
The Battlesmith Artificer on the other hand:
extra attack at lvl 5
proficiency with martial weapons at lvl 3
while the Steal Defender still needs to use your Bonus Action to attack, it can Dodge, Search, Hide, Dash or Help instead, without the use of your Bonus Action. On top of that it can use its reaction to protect you.
As a Battle Smith you can use your Intelligence Stat for your weapon attack rolls wich reduces ( not eliminates) the need to bump dex higher then 14
Your right it would have to be a battle master but would you have to use your bonus action to get the steal defender to impose disadvantage on what your attacking? Or would you be able to do that for free?
The Defender can freely use its Action to give you advantage on one attack. It can also freely use its Reaction to give disadvantage on one attack against you. (T&Cs like timing and positioning apply)
Branding Smite is a spell, that uses your Bonus Action and a Spellslot to improve your next melee attack. You would have to replace your 3rd attack to cast the spell instead. This can be done directly before the attack as long as you didn‘t use you BA for anything else.

So you would say i am casting branding smite then because of your pet giving you advantage roll for your first attack. And once that is done roll your 2nd attack also with advantage and do your weapons damage and add what branding smite does both time's am i understanding you right?
So then if it was a critical hit it would be possible to do 64 damage in one round if my math is right and that would be with a level 5 battle master that would be a 1d6+4 of hand crossbowand a 2d6 branding smite and crit means damage is time's 2
I don‘t know where the 64 is coming from but at lvl 5 Battlesmith , magic crossbow, with 16 int or dex and crossbow master feat you look at:
Action =two attacks: 2x(1d6+4)
Bonus Action: either 1 attack from Crossbow Master (1d6+4) OR extra damage from Branding Smite spell (2d6)
1d6 is an average of 3.5 so you are looking at 22.5 (CBM) or 22 (smite) points of damage. If you want to look at the extremly low chance that you critical hit on the attack right after you activated Smite, on the second attack that doesn’t get smite and that you roll a 6 on each and every dice, you would be looking at : 2x(3x6)+4+2x(6)+4=56 (you do not double damage modifiers, only the amount of damage dice you roll).
Even if you can guarantee a critical hit by using Hold Person, your chances of rolling 8 sixes in a row are 1:1,679,616
I also noted it appears at best you can get three attacks with your hand crossbow at this level. It also appears you need two feats (or more) to build this character, so you're up at level 8 or 12 before this all comes together. It is good that you rolled such good stats because you have also had to sacrifice ASIs to get these feats. I believe your stat roll is well above average in the range of under 4.4% probability to have all those values not under the values you received, or more plainly, you would get better values less than 4.4% of the time if you are rolling 4d6 and discarding one.

Yes i have been told by many that my dice love me or trying to impress me i don't know about that just like here is one of my stat rolls i have gotten 14 13 16 14 15 16 that is with 4 d6 taking away the smallest number of course the next one was 11 12 16 12 11 11 so I don't know how much they like me when they have given me rolls like 10 11 12 18 12 11 as well

And i started out with a 16 on my dex anyways
I rolled my stat's and they were as follows 16 16 13 14 13 12 i always roll my stat's don't like point buy or standard

And how would you add branding smite to this combo or would you be able to do that?

Your pet only gives you advantage on the first attack roll. Smite only adds bonus damage to the first hit.

I would think if they were liking me they would be giving me more 17 and 18s but i get those very rarely in the grand skeam of things
And a lot of times i just use the dice here and write the rolls down
