I want to create a ranged weapon that deals force damage instead of piercing damage. I have tried five different things so far, and none of them have worked.
Do any of you clever people know how to do it, and if it is even possible?
Yeah I think the best you can do is change the description to say it does force damage instead of piercing, but the piercing label will still be there.
I tried some of the basic ideas(even the option that the item below uses) to create your item and as you said, it wouldn't work. Don't ask me why this worked but, here is what I did.
Create a homebrew weapon and use the Sun Blade as a base. Edit all the fields in the Basic Info to match the range weapon information you want, save it. Remove all the Modifiers you don't want. Change the Modifier of Replace Damage Type from Radiant to Force. Save, Save, try to add to character. The rolled damage shows the assigned damage type.

It isn't possible. There are no weapons that deal force damage, and no homebrew modifiers that change weapon damage.
This is planned eventually, but not anytime soon.

Damn, that is some workaround. Thanks for the help :D
