So, I've been dabbling with homebrew spells, but something strange happens: when I make spells that have "at higher level" progression, the damage does not upgrade when I cast it on higher levels.
For example, the spell burning hands when selected with a 2nd level spell slot, becomes blue and shows "4d6" on the damage. However, if i make a copy of the spell, changin only the name into "burning doom whatever", when selected from 2nd level it shows 3d6, and is not highlighted in blue.
Same goes for the homebrew cantrips I created, they too don't seem to work as intended as regards to the higher level casting options... I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but even the spells that used to work, now don't
