Seriously, how difficult can this be? Let us homebrew some skills. The 5e skill system is woefully anemic and incredibly over simplified. I would love to be able to edit skills or create new ones. I don't see why this would be too terribly impactful on other aspects of the character sheet.
on your character sheet, you can modify and add custom skill if you want, you can even say if you're proficient/expert/half prop, and if it depends on ability, to have it automatically calculating the bonus.
To do so, there is a custom skill button under the skill list

I don't want to have to manhandle every skill with every player like that. I also can't have detail of each skill available for them when they make their character without going outside of dndbeyond. Seems kind of self evident as to why I'd want to homebrew skills.
