So I'm new to the forums and new to homebrewing subclasses but I was hoping to get some community feedback on a pair of my creations.
My first offering is an Oath of Revelry Paladin. Design-wise, I enjoyed the flavor of the PHB Oath of the Ancients, specifically the whole defending the light of the world bit, but was hoping to come up with an option that was less nature based and more focused on celebrating the beauty of humanoid creations, like the arts. My thoughts in creating the Revelry Paladin was for focusing a bit less on the heavy hitting Paladin, and focusing more on support and status options.
My second creation is the Path of the Accursed Barbarian. The thought for this class came from watching the Mike Mearls Happy Hour where he was working on designing a Barbarian class that was all about a physical transformation of the character. The inspiration I came up with was a character along the lines of the video game Prototype or Venom from the Marvel universe: some sort of alien or mystical curse affecting you that allows for body transformation while you rage. Whereas I saw Berserker barbarian as hitting things harder and Storm Herald Barbarians creating an aura of effects, I wanted to try and focus on giving the Barbarian more options in their attacks with this subclass. My goal with the different options for this subclass was to really allow the player to capture whatever the source of their curse is and reflect it in the visuals of their character.
Being so new to Homebrewing in general, I'd love any advice from people with regards to both of these subclasses. With the Revelry Paladin, I think I did a good job of capturing the flavor I was going for, but would love to see if that translates to the public. The Accursed Barbarian is a little more fresh for me, and I'm curious if the options that I offered do a good enough job of capturing imagination and being both creepy and effective.
