Hi im a DM and I run a homebrew campaign and as such there are elements of which I like to throw my players for a loop such as things not in the norm thus what im looking for is either two things id like your help with either making monsters can use or your favourite ones y'all have found on this site. (Also no joke monsters)
1. Come up with the dilemma you want your monster to pose. What unique difficulty do you want your players to have to consider?
2. Come up with an idea for a creature that represents something you want your players to recognize as evil, or wrong. This type of monster creation helps tell a fable styled story.
3. Design a monster so that it is tactically challenging for your group by creating something that exploits your players weaknesses in battle.
Which of these are you looking for?

I'm probably laughing.
It is apparently so hard to program Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul spell-swapping into dndbeyond they had to remake the game without it rather than implement it.
My first beastie encounter for them is going to be an undead experiment of fusing beings together and raising them from the dead to create stronger undead this idea will center around the idea of the Nuckleavee and I plan on focusing on new abilities monsters will have for a future one it will have the ability to lower a random ability score of the players if not treated quickly enough though for the Nuckleavee ill be researching it to see what ability I can come up with. What I'll be looking for in monsters is based on the biomes in the world
The first is of course the vast grasslands but the they have an underlying undead problem
The next is a baren desert a scar of magic that has destroyed its beauty before so a more magic based enemy
The next a kingdom who is tied to the leadership of the underworld so something like a demon
A dwarven frozen mountains that is constantly under attack by giants or trolls and their underlings
And finally one that im proud of is the swamplands of druids where the nature itself is alive ie huminoid plant monster with rose bud heads some of the nature is giant others are small but they focus of debilitating the players and slowly chipping away at their strengths.
