Way of the Open Palm, except with Knives/Darts/Throwing things (Kinda like acupuncture except more ouch and from a distance). Not that flashy, nor not as cool, and basically is a one trick pony, but god DAMN can they throw stuff.
Lets you stun with any projectile, use projectiles (specifically darts) as melee weapons, and lets you throw two projectiles when you make any attack action, excluding fury of blows. You can give the paralyzed effect to enemies that lasts until the end of your current turn instead of just stunning them by sticking your projectile in them during a melee attack and breaking it into their body, obviously breaking the used weapon and use two ki points, and the save for the move would be DEX instead of Con. (Melee damage would be unarmed strikes, plus whatever projectile damage dice you have.)
At higher levels, you're able to tie strings of Ki to whatever you're throwing to yank enemies closer or trip them, and maybe even increase your mobility moving around, like being able to use the dash action while wallrunning, swing around, and/or being able to use full walking distance (and maybe a dash) while climbing. (You might just switch the starting ability above for this one for balance)
All in all, kinda cool (to me anyway). Think of even cooler stuff than what I made. Whatever it is, it's gonna cool cuz' it's your imagination, and that's already pretty cool.
Yeah, that's pretty clever. A subclass would be pretty easy to make as well. The abilities would basically just be: you can use your XYZ ability with throwing knives/you can use throwing knives as a Monk weapon.
The range ability sounds more like Radiant Sun Bolt reskinned to thrown weapons. That's ok as your idea makes more sense to me. How about incorporating a modified version of Fist of Unbroken Air as a range control mechanic for your Ki tether idea, and maybe for a limited resource range power attack for your projectiles?
That would make sense. Overall, anyone here is welcome to interpret this idea in anyway they want, no limits. They only thing I want it to be is something fun, useful, and not broken as hell. Fun is the mission here. (Balance is also part of the mission)
Alright.

Sounds neat.

I would play that subclass.
