I am the GM of a big group of 6 lvl 6. (If you are from my group, stop reading because of spoilers).
Because I make almost everything myself, I am not always sure if my creation are too strong. They surely are fun for dm and players but they can be a real punch to the gut.
My Groups world is on the verge of a demonic invasion (the big plot and they are the main reason for it) while they still try to figure out why they all awakened in an abandoned laboratory with no memory (introduction adventure 1,5 year ago and personal plot).
the campaign has multiple way to stop the invasion. Finding old mighty artifacts that helps in the final fight, Gather allies for a united attack on the demonic citadell (where the portal for the big invasion is forming), which will give them more time and less adds in the final fight the more allies they have, and finally roaming the continent to destroy the summoning amplifier, which lessen the time for the portal to open, giving them more time in destroying them(+ the amplifier are most times old powerful magical/holy places or artifact perverted by the demons
For that I want to ask you guys for correction or what you think of some of my creation. So I dont roflstomp them. As one enemy they already encountered twice and had fun with, was the demonic houndmaster, once with 2 Hell Hound and on his revenge encounter with 3. not a boss but more an "iconic - rare" enemy so to speak
For something that they have to actually encounter based on their decision :
So they decided to go to the stormlord sanctum because of the paladins background and its the holy place of his god (now an amplifier). There will be minor encounter with cultist (no problem at their level) but to destroy the amplifier (by taking the holy hammer of the Stormlord out of it) they have to fight this guy with an unique mechanic. (emotional encounter for the paladin cause his mentor is a part of this thing, something he will recognized mid fight).
The encounter will be a huge round balcony of the sanctuary on a mountain peak. So a round arena with nothing but a really high fall if you step outside (but the balcony will be huge)
What do you think? Furthermore I will keep posting with new inventions based of the campaign (already have a demonic colosal tree in mind, the mother of pestilence).
Btw Stormhowl (the artifact) is homemade too. Its a staged based artifact (meaning it grows with time in power like the vestiges of cr)
