If you're reinventing the whole world, every class and race and critter and piece of lore, I'd ask why you're still using 5e at all?
D&D does not tolerate being torn out of its fantasy trappings well at all. This game is anchored very deeply in its Tolkienesque trappings; other settings have to conform to D&D, not the other way around. If you want to do a world where Magic is Science and the people therein use magic the way we use electricity, I'd take a close look at Eberron. If you're looking to do something else entirely, I'd recommend checking out a different gaming system. I've been real partial to Savage Worlds of late; it's easy to understand, easy to run, and can be tweaked to do most anything one would need done with it.
Much better idea than trying to get D&D 5e to function outside its trappings.

I made a world that's main idea is pseudo-science: do you have any ideas for classes, races, etc?
