I created a +3 sword, but when I tested it with one of my characters, the attack roll and damage modifiers didn't take into account the +3. In the sword's edit menu, I gave it the following modifier: Modifier type: Bonus Modifier subtype: Magic Fixed value: 3

Does anyone know if I made some mistake?
copy a +3 sword as a new homebrew and compare its settings to yours.
Nevermind, I realized my problem. Because my item requires attunement, I didn't see the bonuses until I had my character attune to it. But your advise is a really great way to teach how to apply different modifiers to items, so it still helps
