I'm trying to implement a feature in a homebrew race (in this case, inspired by Hobgoblins):
"When you hit with a Strength-based melee weapon on your turn, you deal extra damage equal to your character level."
I have tried an Action (with a Fixed Value and Leveled Override), but that Fixed Value refuses to change unless I also include a die roll.
I have also tried several types of Modifier:
Damage > Melee Weapon Attacks
Bonus > Magic
Bonus > Melee Attacks
Bonus > Strength Attacks
So far, I can either get a bonus to Attack and Damage, to Attack alone, or it refuses to acknowledge the change at all (after saving the new feature at every stage all the way up to the race itself, changing a test character's race to something else, then switching back to my homebrew race).
Any advice on how best to implement this feature using DnDBeyond homebrew tools?
