Need some advice, guys. I've got two players that are playing brothers that are both fighters. Next level, they're asking for a feat that they can both take. The idea that was pitched was something that effectively gives them pack tactics (I don't play with flanking rules) but only between the two of them. I'm trying to come up with something to pitch to them, but I'm having a hard time deciding what I want it to look like.
Pack tactics on it's own doesn't really seem worthy of a feat, but maybe I'm downplaying the value.
They've talked about an ability that only works with each other. I'm hesitant to do that because it would effectively be a wasted feat if one of them dies.
I'd like for there to be something a little more interesting than just pack tactics.
I did kind of like the back to back fighting in the homebrew listings, but I'm not sure that I want to use up their bonus actions for everything.
The first thing that came to mind was the sorcerer's metamagic option for a twinned spell. Something that effectively doubles the damage a successful attack deals and also gives them advantage on the attack roll so there's a better chance they both hit their targets, essentially drawing on each other's strength through their familial connection.
As far as not wasting the feat if one of the characters dies, you could word it so that it covers familial bond and would work if someone made a blood pact with another fighter. Also gives the feat a little versatility in case you were to publish the homebrew for others to use.
