I'm looking for four players to run through a one-shot that I just finished writing up. The game would feature a blend of investigation and combat, but is also kind of a take on an escape-the-room? I don't want to share much about the setting, because I've got a feeling it might affect character creation a bit too much, but needless to say your characters are not home, but they'd very much like to get home.
It would be play-by-post in the forums here, asynchronous with the expectation that you'll check in at least once a day to keep things moving. For combat, we'd have a turn order to determine the order of execution, but all players would post their actions and then their opponents would react en masse.
No currency encumbrance, standard array for skills, level six for the characters. No restrictions on race or class, so long as it comes from official sourcebooks (trying to control the crazy for this first go through).
Feel free to shoot me a link to a sheet if you're interested / reply below!
Group looks like it's coming together well! Inkix it looks like you may have forgotten to give your rogue an archetype and an Ability Score Improvement or Feat, just as a heads up. : )
I have not bought the books so I don’t have the choices available, but I can track them down. Sorry if this will be a problem, I can create a different character with everything?
Hey all,
I'm looking for four players to run through a one-shot that I just finished writing up. The game would feature a blend of investigation and combat, but is also kind of a take on an escape-the-room? I don't want to share much about the setting, because I've got a feeling it might affect character creation a bit too much, but needless to say your characters are not home, but they'd very much like to get home.

Howdy, I'm interested. Just double checking, lvl 6 and from any source book?
Yup. Technically, the world-space is Faerûn, but if you wanted to use something from Eberron or Wildemount, I wouldn't stop you.
Alright, Here's a link to the character I rolled up.

Wasn't sure about gold so I rolled for it but haven't bought anything. Can I use rolled gold or do you want me to use starting equipment?
Feel free to buy! I think it’s make sense for you to have your own choice belongings by that level 👍🏻
Oh this sounds fun, I'll make a character and get back to you OP.
I would really enjoy being in this one shot

Draft up a character! We’re only one shy from being able to run it
Fantastic, checking it out now
Hey, I'm interested and I enjoy escape room-type stuff :) Is it okay if I'm completely new to PbP?
Yes absolutely! If you and Spyrus send sheets my way, that’s our party made!
Aight, thanks! Here's my character:

Oh, let me private message you a campaign, I have content sharing and all the books. : )
Hey if this is still open I'd like to join

Here's my Character Idea. I've got a small backstory lined up but I can always work with you on it if we want this to align with the setting better.
