The Hook: Having mostly retired from a life as sort of Robinhood pirates Crashes Against Rocks, a Tabaxi monk, and Iren, a human fighting/ wizard, both started schools of a sort. Iren's is a fighting school in downtown Minatarn. Crashes started a monastery at an old winery near what appears to be a gate to the Feywild just outside Mintarn. The two have been studying their rather large collections of books and mulling what they experienced during the recent years. With the help of friends/ fellow pirates the two have gotten a chunk of Tiamat's nest off the plane and discovered the source of that fragment; defeated ancient Aboleths; seen the eye of Ghaunadaur in the sky; foiled a plan by Yeenoghu, and just discovered that the God Cyric may be involved in all the events of their recent lives. The year is 1483 ... You all know that during the Spellplague's End Ao caused the time of upheaval... (The Tablets of Fate were destroyed and many upheavals occurred as the worlds/Realms of Toril and Abeir grow closer. A situation that became worse at the God of Magic's death). The world only just recovered but 3 years ago from these events. Crashes Against Rocks and Iren still have questions. They need to seek the advice of the clerics of Ao and the fates seem to be pointing them toward Amn. If the past is prologue, they need help... Read on and respond below if interested.
Game: D&D 5e Starting Level 17- hoping to get to level 20 Sword Coast Homebrew Group type: PbP using Discord Experience: Any Location/Timezone: DM PST, Players any Time Zone Schedule: Post at least once every 48 hours or notify if you need more time., Starting in late Oct or first of November Roles sought: Players up to 6 but will go with two to add to two current players Game style: Mostly rules as written, but rules as fun can trump that for effective or creative player choice. I might have designed the situation but the player's choice has an impact on the story and events. Originally was just a simple 4-week pirate run that became over a year-long campaign of three parts. Two players would like to chase the problem to its roots and they are going to need some help. Rule 1: Be Kind. Rule 2: I will get things wrong, but I am the boss. So, respectful questions and reminders are okay, but once I make a decision it is done. Rule 3: No Harassment. And its corollary, once you are asked to stop something it stops immediately. You don't need to explain yourself, and they do not need to convince you. It is simple; it just stops. You are a team; no, you cannot steal the party's stuff because you are a thief nor kill a party member just because your barbarian is mad. If PVP is not completely story-driven (You must save them from the suggestion spell, so you knock them out; You have been ordered by the captain to steal that heirloom pocket watch.) then a big fat NO to it. The group will decide in our first run if players can hide/do minor things - pick up an extra coin or switch an empty cup for a full one that sort of thing. No, you cannot hide the swashbuckler's favorite sword or the caster's component pouch those things are personal to a character and you as a good teammate would not touch them (at least not until they are truly dead).
Hello there. I would like the opportunity to participate in your continued adventure? I am a reasonably experienced player, but I have to admit that I have never had the privilege of guiding a character past lvl 12 (it's a long story but involved a lot of giants spiders, which has translated into me abhorring the creatures). However, I love this game; I love the idea of a realm where magic exists, where situations depend on each other, and your party are the only people who will search for you in an alternate dimension if that is what is required. I enjoy the collaboration and the need to develop fantastic solutions to challenges because magic exists. And dragons let's not forget about those. I am hoping to join a collaborative party that if one of us is in combat with a giant nematode as an action, burrow 60feet down, causing you to fall, we all, without hesitation, dive in after you. Because together, we are stronger.
Welcome. I sent you a private message that also has my discord contact. You can message me in discord if you are still interested.
It is a continuation of their lives and they may have some background, but none of it is necessary for this new story. The background is simply the thing that made them want to keep going and find more answers. I have reasons for all sorts of new people of the wealth and experience of a 17th level PC being interested in joining this adventure which we will expand on as people choose characters.
I would also be interested in joining. I have played a number of PbP games over the last few years (as well as one live game) and I enjoy the PbP format. I would love to have the opportunity to play with a higher level group which such an interested backstory. Like Naiya_Varma, I have not played a character at such a high level before, with 11th being the highest I have previously.
