"Deep beneath the surface of the world lies the Underdark, a realm of endless labyrinthine tunnels and caverns where the sun never shines."
"The adventurers have all had the misfortune of falling to such a fate. Captured by the drow, they are prisoners at one of the dark elves’ outposts, awaiting transportation to Menzoberranzan, the City of Spiders. Whether they came into the Underdark seeking knowledge or fortune, or were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, they were ripe prey for a drow raid."
This is Out of Abyss! This environment is confusing, horrifying, and a derision of everything that the world above knows to be true. This campaign will try to test you as much as possible and it will be up to the party to roll the dice to escape or reach their goals.
The characters will be created in D&D beyond where I have a Master Tier subscription that will enable me to share all of my books. During a free session 0 two days before the campaign begins, the characters will start finalizing their their character sheets along with optional backstories they want to be incorporated in the story to me prior to session 1. Additionally, there will be a conversation during session 0 on how the players envision the campaign running and how we can create a great environment for the adventure we are about to embark on! This conversation will talk about trigger warnings, player boundaries, and whatever is important!
The characters in this campaign can begin at level one and the source book is set to handle characters up to about level 7. I have pre-made characters that I made on D&D beyond if that interests anyone as well.
To prepare for this game and get the most of the time, players should attempt to secure as good of an internet connection they can along with at least a mic and a webcam if they feel comfortable. The webcam is not required but I personally like seeing the look on players faces so I can gauge role play interactions and the performance of the session. The voice and video function of the game will be run through discord so please sign up for an account and become familiar with the platform. A complete reading of the rules is not required but becoming familiar with the play style and basics is highly recommended to make the most out of the players time.
