You wake up to the floor rocking below you and the sounds of waves crashing against wood. Around you are many others who are either asleep or sitting down staring at the floor beneath them, each of their hands and legs were tied down by manacles. Looking down at your own you see you are in the same situation as them. As you look up again a soldier comes into the room, his skin is a dark gray and his ears are a good few inches longer than those of a human, he's an Elf soldier of Servus.
Join in the adventure to save Eldrainen from destruction and shadows. this campaign will take place from level 1 to 19 and will be a difficult one especially in the early stages where death is permanent and likely if one makes mistakes.
You and multiple others will start on a slavers ship where you were put after being taken from your life previously and all of your gear is taken except the clothes on your backs.
I use some homebrew rules which are on the discord server along with a list of banned races and spells. though outside a few exceptions the spells are all only restricted meaning the ones on the list cannot be taken on level up or prepared without ones character having the knowledge of the spells in question which could be anything from having had someone teach you it, you finding the information on it, or obtaining a scroll for the spell.
On character creation you will have no equipment from your class or background except for clothing fitting it and no money. this includes spell casters not having focuses or materials to cast spells. though despite this you will be provided with some basic gear early on into the game so you wont be helpless in a battle.
Eldrainen is the world you will be playing in, its a world of great magic and great heroes. your characters will be from the continent of Rixa where there are multiple nations living in peace.
Libertas- a nation recently wracked by war with a powerful cult that worshipped a Dracolich, they were powerful before this but after the destruction of the capital city of Sesa their overall power has greatly diminished and the kings current status is unknown so each of the Earls who held dominion on each Earldom of the nation try to keep the people calm and try to recover their former peace and power. it has been 5 years since this war ended and the nation is recovering somewhat and is now no longer at risk of rebellion. Libertas is a nation of many races from the simple human to the celestial aasimar. race means little to the people of the nation and anyone can find refuge there if they look for it.
Dracones- A powerful militaristic nation south of Libertas that holds dominion over the southern Dragon Tooth Mountains. Dracones is ruled by a Triumvirate of powerful dragons headed by the dragon god of knowledge Arsair. the nations cares little for a persons wealth and only those with strength, cunning, and ambition can rise within the nation. Dracones is the only nation on Rixa that still practices slavery and the slaves of Dracones are forced into the military where they will either die or manage to earn their freedom and gain the nations support in becoming a citizen of the nation.
Nebula- a small land of death and undead. originally the homeland of the Aasimar race it was destroyed during the God Fell War by the God of Fog and all the major cities are now necropolis's guarded by mighty undead that even champions and heroes are wary of.
Aurum- A small mountain dwelling nation of humans who provide the continent with most of its ores thanks to the nations mountains which house veins of ore that regrow slowly after being mined. the nation is ruled by the descendent of the God of Precious metals and the people of the nation are hostile to most races outside human and orc.
Deos- the largest and most powerful nation created by the Goddess of Victory. The orcs of Deos are highly religious and think of themselves as the protectors of Rixa and strive to cross the Ocean of Ghosts and wipe out the elves of Servus so that the destruction of the God Fell War can never come to pass again. Deos holds a very positive relationship with the other nations of Rixa and they are very accepting of the other races and religions. the Soldiers of Deos will aid people if they but ask and they request little in return for their assistance.
Arbores- A small jungle nation ruled by a council of beast race tribes who worship and protect the jungles of their home. Arbores is the least technologically advanced of the nations on Rixa and has strained relations with most of them though they do trade actively with Deos.
Doctrina- a nation of magic. Doctrina was founded by the Genasi race to during the time after the God Fell War ended and they strove to increase Rixa's magical knowledge and in the capital city of Khel the Goddess of Sorcerers founded a magic academy to gather that knowledge and to teach those with magical skill and potential on how to properly harness their abilities.
Lorem- a large desert nation that is home to the dwarven people. the dwarven clans used to be divided and competing against each other for the limited resources in the deserts of Lorem but a few centuries after the God Fell War the Goldforge Clan became the first artificers and using the power of magically enhanced items and tools they managed to successfully gather the clans and create the nation of Lorem. Lorem is a powerful nation focusing on trade and transportation, they are the most technologically advanced with basic steam engines and black powder guns. but despite this they are also powerful magically as they are home to the artificers and many of their rulers have reached the demigod status using the powers of an artificer.
In my world the gods are well known to have once been mortals who managed to ascend to godhood. in game terms a demigod must have class levels and be at least character level 16. to ascend to godhood one would need to be character level 20 and attune to an ascension artifact.
this is a first come first serve game and i currently have 4 spots filled and as this will be replacing a game of mine the time is already set in stone. Game times are tuesday at 3pm mountain standard time. there is 2 slots open and the game wont start for 1 month as i finish setting things up for it. im gathering people to get things all ready before and so they have more than enough time to clear their schedules for session times.
to apply fill out this template and put it into the comments. I highly recommend those without experience to not apply. this campaign's start is not going to be easy and player death could very likely happen, though this does not mean those with no experience are not allowed. just that it might be a bit much for first timers.
Experience with dnd: I have been playing for well over a decade as a player and mostly a DM. I have played 2nd, 4th, and 5th edition. I have played 5th edition the most by far and could almost recite the books by heart at this point😂
favorite memory from a dnd game: Playing with my cousins when I was a kid.
A little about yourself: I’m in college getting my degree in health and physical education and just recently got back into D&D this last year. I’ve been DMing for a long time but haven’t really gotten to play in a few years so I’m excited to try out some of the MANY unplayed characters I have built over that time.
Character ideas: Thinking about playing a Samurai Dragonborn character who got lost in his travels and ended up as a wandering warrior separated from his clan. Was also considering a Dwarven Ranger who fights alongside his trusty drake companion.
This sounds like quite a lot of fun, and has a wide array of lore to delve into as well it seems! Throwing my hat into the ring.

favorite memory from a dnd game: Our party of 11th level characters were on the verge of a TPK after a month of building up to major story thread. With few spell slots left, and multiple members down, the group's Paladin managed to secure a crucial crit with smite. It was a pretty cinematic way to turn the tides of battle with the boss, especially when said boss had wiped the floor with us in an earlier battle, resulting in the druid losing an arm and having to find a way to overcome the injury.
A little about yourself: Somewhat of an introvert, but not nearly as much in the online space. I work in the education field, so my schedule is rather consistant every week, so the current time of game is easy to make. I've been a fan of DnD for years now, and have even gone to of Gen Con a few times to get all up in that tabletop game goodness.
Character ideas: From reading through what you've provided so far I have thought of a couple of rough ideas for a character.
One would be some kind of Drakewarden ranger, likely from Arbores.
The other would lean into the militaristic nature of Dracones as a soldier/martial type.
Last one that I have come up with at the moment would be an artificer-type, possibly leaning into the black powder weaponry prevelant in Lorem, even if it might take time working up to it.

A little about yourself: I’m in Uni at the moment studying to be a teacher and recently managed to play a campaign over the year, while i haven't played a lot of DND i have been listening to DND podcasts for the last couple of years and after ages of searching i managed to get into a campaign which was a short campaign for a bunch of players who have played little to no DND
Character ideas: Thinking about playing a Variant Human(fighter Echo Knigh) Who is haunted by his past actions. while trying to forget the memories he subconsciously created the Echo to remind him of his past actions(can change character or create a new one if needed)
favorite memory from a dnd game: when my group tried to placate a confused giant with a magical bear snack
A little about yourself: bit of a nerd, engineering student, been a while since I've played a pretty keen to play again, dumb fun sense of humour and really bad at telling people about myself.
Character ideas: so so so many, but like top 3 are way of the astral self monk, street kid taught by some homeless weirdo, thinks he's super smooth and clever but he's really just not. a hex blade warlock that was almost sacrificed to their patron by the cult they accidentally joined. an Aberrant mind sorcerer trying to run away from a every single bad deal and broken promise they've ever made, while also just sorta making it worse.
Ex with dnd/ fav memery: not much done a campaign from level 1-5 my first character he was a ranger he was cool
About me: I like dark fantasy and love to write dark backstory's I'm pretty chill with time and season cancelling
Character ideas: depends on band races but I was thinking a monk who's sister died but he doesn't believe it and was looking for her when he was captured
Favorite memory from a dnd game: about a year or so ago I game I was in where I got to play a homebrew race, which I fell in love with, I go to play as walked into a tavern of Pirates, soldiers, and marines bribed and threatened them all to take his party to a town that was hours away cause the person who raised him was in trouble and the DM at the time like the way I did it and he knew I had the money to bribe them all. (I was also the party walking bank so they gave me all their money.)
A little about yourself: Im a bit reserved person and shy person but i do enjoy music anime and games
Character ideas: One idea i have had recently was a Tiefling battlemage. Id do 15-5 fighter-wizard or wizard fighter depending on which the party needs more of.
Experience with dnd: I've been playing 5e for three years now. I've been DMing also for the last two years.
favorite memory from a dnd game: In game moment- when our cleric rolled a nat 20 and basically had a 45 minute therapy session with an ancient black dragon. Out of game moment - at the school I teach at I also run the DND club, and the students in there were not close at all when we started and by the end of the year, they were great friends, just love watching how this game brings people together from all walks of life.
A little about yourself: I'm a high school teacher in south florida
Character ideas: I have a few that I've been toying around with for a bit. A water genasi sorcerer (storm) who grew up on a coastal town, the son of merchants, and has a bit of a chip on his shoulder comparing himself to his siblings who he thinks are "perfect". A half-elf bard, found and raised in the feywild and currently on the run from the Seelie Court because of an offense to Queen Titania & a half-orc barbarian who struggles with his past and resents the rage that he carries around and uses in battle.
